Sequel: Zee and Todd

York and Mori

Chapter 23- Mori

Mori:

Mori felt dead without her cameras.
The lobby area of the school looked different and would have looked perfect on the school newspaper’s front page. The texture of the building was mostly normal, but the students were defiantly not. Every girl wore a dress, and every guy was dressed in something nice. There were crowns and beautiful jewels that sparkled from the jewelry that the royalty students wore, and many capes. Zee would have run up to her by now and drag her down into the basement to automatically report this horrendous scene. However, Zee was no where to be seen.
Mori passed by a wall on the way to her lockers that held trophies and other awards that the school had won out of its five generations of existence. However, there was no photography in it. Group shots of everyone graduating were all painted. They were already like that before, but the newest painting that sat in its case saddened Mori. There was Zee and Todd with fake smiles on their faces and wearing the honor student’s robes. They graduated a year ago.
Mori saw a few familiar faces walk past. Ella, Snow, and Ariel walked past wearing beautiful outfits. They both quickly turned back around and gave Mori shocked looks.
“Dorothy! What did you do to your dress?!” Snow screeched running up to her.
“That Toto brother of yours rode too fast today! Look at you!” Ella said running over on her heals.
Ariel yelled at some random student to grab her a washcloth to clean Mori’s dress up. The student, scared to death, ran off to do what she demanded. Mori looked confused as the girls grabbed her arms and sat her down on a bench.
“You always need to look your best!” Snow said as the student gave her the cloth.
“I’m sorry?” Mori said just waiting for the girls to ask her for the answers to the math homework that they forgot to do again.
Ella was tying her hair back into pigtails again with bows and Snow was fixing up the little mud that got on Mori’s dress. Ariel came over with a bag of cosmetics and fixed up Mori’s make up. Mori was confused and they suddenly stopped and stepped away. She felt like a doll.
“There! You look perfect!” Ariel smiled.
“Okay! He’s going to be at your locker in five minutes! Go go go!” Snow said pushing her down the hallway.
“Wait- what’s going on?!” Mori said turning back around on her heals.
“It’s Friday!” Ella nagged, “Remember the sister’s code!”
They placed their hands to their hearts and chanted a code about being perfect girlfriends to the one man who is always perfect in looks and power. Mori twitched and the girls shooed her and ran off the other way. Mori passed by a mirror that some girls were by and she automatically pulled out the pigtails. Why were those girls even acknowledging her as one of their friends? They only talked to Mori if they needed answers on homework, or to threaten her to stay away from Prince.
Mori messed with her hair all the way down to her locker and saw that she had no bag with her. She growled and then looked to the ground to see a picnic basket with a note from Sarah saying that she left this at home. Well, most of the note said that. The rest of the note was cut off as if the pen was taken away from Sarah’s hand. She smiled and thought of Vi.
Mori found the key inside the picnic basket. She opened her locker to see it mostly the same. The picture of her friends was still inside, but it looked a little faded as if it got lost in the locker a few times. She touched the picture and painfully smiled wondering aloud what happened to the world.
Just as she was thinking, Mori felt two arms wrap around her waist.
“Hello, beautiful,” a strange voice whispered in her ear.
She shoved the arms away in a panic mode and almost fell into her locker as she turned around. Mori was breathing heavily trying to get her heart rate down and her pupils were dilated. The man who stood behind her had a confused look on his face. He was dressed in the finest clothes and had a beautiful crown upon his head. His blonde hair was perfect, had bright blue eyes, and had perfect teeth. The perfect Prince Charming.
He turned to a nerdy looking kid behind him, “It is Friday, right?”
“Y-yes sir!” the kid said back.
He turned back at Mori with a huge smile and gave her a hand to help her out of her locker. She brought her heart rate down, and smiled noticing that the man in front of her was Quinn.
“Oh, thank goodness! You are here too!” she said hugging him.
“Of course I am! I’m here to pick m’lady up every Friday so we can go to class together. You should know that by now.”
He took her hand and kissed it. She tried to pull her hand out of his grasp but he had a tight grip. He laughed thinking that she was being feisty about that test they had today. He closed her locker and took the basket that was on the ground. He placed his hand out, palm down, asking if they shall go to class early today. Mori looked at his hand and back up at his face. She couldn’t help but glance around at the other students around them.
The other couples were walking to class as if they were truly royalty. The girl was to put her hand on his hand and they walked gracefully to class. She looked back at him, who gave a “what’s-going-on” stare. Mori did the same cautiously and heard him talk the entire way to class. She hated the walk upstairs and once they got to their etiquette class, she broke away to get to York.
“Pst! York!” she said crawling under the fancy white tables.
He joined her underneath and she asked if York thought that if Quinn was acting rather strange today. He poked his head out from the table and saw him talking to his princely friends.
“He looks the same, besides the new clothes,” York frowned, “Though something is defiantly different about him…”
“Duh!” Ella said butting into their conversation and growling at Mori who was dirtying up her dress.

Mori sat down nicely to wrinkle free her dress, and Ella smiled. She placed her hands on her hips and said that ever since the board was doing new work in the cafeteria, the Tower students now share the lunch period.
She shook her head, “we talked about this Monday, Dorothy!”
Mori lied and said that she forgot. Ella then stole York back as their teacher came into the room. The rest of the class, she only thought. Maybe he felt strange if the Tower kids were around him since he should actually be in the Tower classes. She scribbled him a note later in class and asked when she could actually talk to him. It took him the rest of the class to actually scribble a note back with a heart saying that she was his all day so she could ask him anything.
However, as he took her to her next class, he was still the one talking. Mori twitched having the sudden urge to punch him. As they got to her class, he waited there for her to do something. Probably bow or kiss him, but she walked into the class without a good bye. At lunch he begged to know what he did wrong to make her mad and she gritted her teeth.

“Oh, do you want a list or do you just want me to give you an essay? Oh, actually, that would take too long for you to read. Maybe I should just get York to draw it out for you!”
“Who’s York?”
“What is wrong with you, Quinn?! You never acted like-”
She wasn’t looking where she was going and someone ran into her spilling all of their food onto her nice dress. The entire cafeteria grew silent as Mori saw the mess on her once spotless dress. The kid who ran into her fell to the floor and started gathering up all of the mess. The kids then all erupted laughing around them, but they weren’t laughing at Mori, but the kid.

“Tower kid! Get out of here!” someone called from the audience around them.
“I’m sorry! I’m sorry! Please forgive me!” he barely whispered.
The person that they were closest to kicked him over and Mori saw the ugly glasses that she knew too well. Mori looked behind her to still see Prince standing there. She looked back to the floor to see the fast working hands of UD cleaning up the mess he made. He eventually just gathered everything in his arms and ran out of the cafeteria. UD didn’t look at Mori at all. His face was red and embarrassed for doing such a thing.
As UD ran out of the area she saw another person run after him. She thought that it looked like Greta, but she wasn’t sure. As Mori looked back the three girls came running up to her telling her that they needed to get her into a new dress right away. They lead her out of the cafeteria, but as she passed Prince, who was trying to distract himself with someone else, she frowned.
“That’s the reason why you are uneasy? Nice to finally meet you your majesty.”
She turned and walked on with the girls. She knew that he looked back probably wondering what she meant, but she didn’t care. Mori never would have realized that Quinn’s brother would actually be here at the school. They looked so much a like, but it was quite clear on who was the superior twin. Mori’s eyes lowered as she realized again that it had been a year. A year where a lot of things have changed and she has no idea what happened.

Then Mori realized something. She was being escorted to the Princess club room by the top three Princesses of the school. Mori then suddenly relaxed back on her heals and gave an “ooh!” sound effects as if she was about to faint. The girls caught her and screeched asking what was wrong.
“Ohh.. where am I?” Mori said in a queasy tone.
“Dorothy! Oh, no! that Tower kid did something to you!” Snow cried.
“Ariel, Snow! Go get her some warm tea and a new dress pronto! It’s alright Dorothy! You’re going to be alright!”
“Is this where I get a foot massage too?” Mori asked in the same tone.
“Anything for our dearest Dorothy!” Ella said leading her into the club room…
