Lust for Knowledge

Oh, To Be Young

I was spending my Christmas at Hermione’s as Harry went to Ron’s. I had a lovely time with Hermione’s parents as they finally knew what I was and they accepted it easily, which pleased me.

Though a letter from Harry scared me.

“Hermione.” I waved her over to me, “Read this.” I spoke, handing her the letter telling us about the attack from the Death Eaters.
“Are they all okay?” Hermione asked,
“Read it and you’ll find out, but yes they are.” I spoke as Hermione’s parents looked at us worriedly.

“Everything ok?” Hermione’s mother asked,
“Yes.” I smiled as Hermione sat down,
“At least they are ok.” Hermione spoke, I nodded.
“At least were headed back to Hogwarts tomorrow.” I added, Hermione nodded in agreement with that also.

I walked hand in hand with Harry down the corridor as Hermione read the Daily Prophet.

“It’s so easy for them to get to you. You’re bloody lucky you weren’t killed. You have to realize who you are, Harry.” Hermione spoke,
“I know who I am, Hermione, all right? Sorry.” Harry snapped and then apologized,
“Just both calm down and relax, ok? Harry’s fine, that’s all that matters.” I explained as we passed Ron and Lavender.

“That’s my Won-Won.” Lavender spoke.

“Excuse me, I have to go and vomit.” Hermione spoke; I waved gently at her as she returned the wave with a smile leaving me with Harry as we walked down the corridor together.

“I’ve got to go see Dumbledore now, I hope you don’t mind.” Harry spoke, I nodded with a smile,
“Of course I don’t mind silly.” I spoke and kissed his cheek, “I’ll go see to vomiting Hermione.” I joked; Harry smiled as I waved walking backwards,
“Don’t trip.” Harry spoke,
“I won’t.” I smiled and turned around walking off to catch up with Hermione.

Though we kept looking back at each other stupidly enough.

Next thing Ron was in the hospital from being poisoned. I was standing behind Ginny with Harry holding my hand as Madam Pomfrey looked over Ron. The other professors walked in,
“Quick thinking on your part, Harry, using a bezoar. You must be very proud of your student, Horace.” Dumbledore spoke,
“Hm? Oh, yes, very proud.” Slughorn spoke.

“I think we agree, Potter’s actions were heroic. The question us, why were they necessary?” McGonagall asked,
“Why, indeed? This appears to be a gift, Horace.” Dumbledore walked over to Slughorn who was holding a bottle of something. “You don’t remember who gave you this bottle?” Dumbledore asked, “Which, by the way, possesses remarkably subtle hints of licorice and cherry when not polluted with poison.” Dumbledore spoke, I covered my nose, I could smell the poison,
“Actually I had intended to give it as a gift myself.” Slughorn spoke,
“To whom, I might ask?” Dumbledore spoke,
“To you, Headmaster.” Slughorn replied.

“Where is he?” Lavender called,
“Oh god…” I muttered as Harry smirked and put his arm around my waist,
“Where’s my Won-Won? Has he been asking for me?” Lavender appeared, “What’s she doing here?” Lavender asked glaring at Hermione,
“I might ask you the same question.” Hermione stood up,
“I happen to be his girlfriend.” Lavender snapped,
“I happen to be his, friend.” Hermione snapped back,
“Don’t make me laugh. You haven’t spoken in weeks. I suppose you want to make up now that he’s all interesting.” Lavender explained,
“He’s been poisoned, you daft dimbo! And for the record, I’ve always found him interesting.” Hermione snapped.

Ron stirred as we all looked at him,
“Ah. See? He senses my presence. Don’t worry, Won-Won. I’m here. I’m here.” Lavender spoke.

We all heard him call for Hermione in his sleep; Lavender was horrified as she ran out crying. Hermione sat down and held Ron’s hand.

“Oh, to be young, and to feel love’s keen sting. Well, come away, everybody. Mr. Weasley is well tended.” Dumbledore spoke,
“About time, don’t you think?” Ginny asked Harry and me, I nodded and looked at Hermione with a smile as Ginny walked off,
“Oh, shut up.” Hermione spoke when she saw our faces,
“Bye.” I waved as Harry pulled my hand away with him Hermione smiled as we left them both.
