Lust for Knowledge

Invitation

“For weeks you carry around this book, practically sleep with it yet you have no desire to find out who the Half-Blood Prince is?” Hermione spoke as we walked down the snowy path to get a drink,
“I didn’t say I wasn’t curious, and I don’t sleep with it.” Harry spoke,
“Well, it’s true. I like a nice chat before I go to bed. Now all you do is read that bloody book. It’s just like being with Hermione.” Ron spoke as I laughed.

“Well, I was curious, so I went to--” Hermione started,
“The library.” We all spoke, as she looked between us,
“And?” Harry asked,
“And nothing. I couldn’t find a reference anywhere to a Half-Blood Prince.” Hermione explained,
“There we go. That settles it, then.” Harry spoke.

“Filius!” we heard Slughorn up ahead, “I was hoping to find you in the Three Broomsticks!” Slughorn spoke,
“No, emergency choir practice, I’m afraid, Horace.” Filius replied and kept waddling on.

“Does anyone fancy a Butterbeer?” Harry asked,
“Yum. Yes, please.” I smiled and held onto Harry’s arm.

We walked in the Three Broomsticks,
“No, not there. Over here.” Harry spoke and we went to sit down,
“No, sit beside me.” Harry spoke as I moved to Harry’s left at the end of the table and Ron sat on Harry’s right, Hermione was opposite Ron.

“Okay.” Ron sat down.

“Something to drink?” the waiter asked,
“Four Butterbeers, and some ginger in mine, please.” Hermione spoke, as I sat down with a smile on my face.

“Oh, bloody hell.” Ron spoke, we looked in the corner and saw Ginny with Dean, “Slick git,” Ron added,
“Honestly, Ronald, they’re only holding hands.” Hermione spoke, we looked again. They were now snogging, “And snogging.” Hermione spoke.

The waiter put the drinks on the table and passed them down,
“I’d like to leave.” Ron spoke; I shook my head thinking how stupid he was being,
“What? You can’t be serious.” Hermione spoke,
“That happens to be my sister.” Ron spoke,
“So?” I asked and taken a drink of my Butterbeer.
“What if she looked over here and saw you snogging me? You expect her to leave?” Hermione asked I raised my right eyebrow as she looked at me.

“Hey, my boy!” I saw Slughorn walk over as Harry waved,
“Hello, sir. Wonderful to see you.” Harry stood up and they shook hands,
“And you, and you.” Slughorn spoke,
“So, what brings you here?” Harry asked he was being unusually nice to a teacher.
“The Three Broomsticks and I go way back, further than I care to admit. I can remember when it was One Broomstick.” Slughorn spoke and spilt some of his drink, “All hands on deck, Granger. Listen, my boy, in the old days I used to throw together the occasional supper party for the select student or two. Would you be game?” Slughorn asked,
“I’d consider it an honor, sir.” Harry spoke, Slughorn smiled and looked at Hermione,
“You would be welcome too, Granger, and you Skylar.” Slughorn looked at me,
“I’d be delighted, sir.” Hermione spoke,
“Me too.” I nodded drinking my Butterbeer,
“Splendid. Look or my owl. Good to see you, Wallenby.” Slughorn spoke nodding towards Ron. As he walked off I couldn’t help but burst out laughing at Ron’s face.

“What are you playing at?” Ron asked Harry as he sat down,
“Dumbledore’s asked me to get to know him.” Harry explained as I drank some more of my drink with Hermione,
“Get to know him?” Ron asked,
“I don’t know.” Harry shrugged, “It must be important. If it wasn’t, Dumbledore wouldn’t ask.” Harry spoke.

Hermione put her drink down as I put my head on the table, Butterbeer always made me giggly.

“Got a little bit…” I heard Ron speak; I looked up at the others,
“Huh?” I asked, Harry looked at me and smirked,
“You’ve got a beer mustache.” Harry spoke, I giggled and wiped my mouth,
“Sorry.” I spoke as Harry smiled at me.

Heading back to the castle I walked ahead with Hermione, arm in arm with big goofy smiles on our faces. Butterbeer had small influences on both of us, which wasn’t good.

We both stopped Hermione stood between Ron and Harry putting her arms around them both as Harry very sweetly put his arm around me as I lost my balance.

One of the girls up ahead screamed.

“I warned her. I warned her not to touch it.” Leanne spoke, Katie’s body started trashing about on the floor then flew into the air. She landed harshly on the floor.

“Don’t get any closer. Get back, all of you.” Hagrid walked forward, picking up Katie. Harry went to pick up the item on the ground, “Do not touch that, except by the wrappings. Do you understand?” Hagrid spoke.

We were standing in front of McGonagall.

“You’re sure Katie did not have this in her possession when she entered the Three Broomsticks?” McGonagall asked Leanne,
“It’s like I said. She left to go to the loo, and when she came back she had the package. She said it was important that she deliver it.” Leanne explained,
“Did she say to whom?” McGonagall asked,
“To Professor Dumbledore.” Leanne answered,
“Very well. Thank you, Leanne. You may go.” McGonagall spoke.

“Why is it when something happens it is always you four?” McGonagall spoke,
“Believe me, professor, I’ve been asking myself the same question for six years.” Ron spoke,
“Oh, Severus.” McGonagall spoke.

Snape lifted the necklace up with his wand,
“What do you think?” McGonagall asked,
“I think Miss Bell is lucky to be alive.” Snape spoke.

“She was cursed, wasn’t she? I know Katie. Off the pitch, she wouldn’t hurt a fly. If she was delivering that to Dumbledore she wasn’t doing it knowingly.” Harry explained,
“Yes, she was cursed.” McGonagall spoke,
“It was Malfoy.” Harry spoke quickly, we all looked at him shocked.
“That is a very serious accusation, Potter.” McGonagall spoke sternly,
“Indeed. Your evidence?” Snape asked,
“I just know.” Harry replied,
“You just… know. You astonish with your gifts, Potter. Gifts mere mortals can only dream of possessing. How grand it must be to be the Chosen One.” Snape spoke.

“I suggest you go back to your dormitories. All of you.” McGonagall explained, we nodded and left the classroom.
