Lust for Death

Xenophilius Lovegood

I heard Hermione walk inside the tent as I was getting changed.

“We need to talk.” Hermione spoke,
“Yeah, all right.” Ron replied Hermione moved nearer to where I was so I could hear well from behind the curtain.

“I want to go see Xenophilius Lovegood.” Hermione spoke,
“Sorry?” Harry asked in confusion,
“See this. It’s a letter Dumbledore wrote to Grindelwald. Look at the signature. It’s the mark again.” I heard Hermione explained, probably showing the boys something important. “It keeps cropping up. In Beedle the Bard, in the graveyard in Godric’s Hollow.” Hermione spoke,
“It was there too.” Harry spoke as I put a vest on, then a warm jumper,
“Where?” Hermione asked,
“Outside Gregorovitch’s Wand Shop.” Harry spoke.

“But what does it mean?” Ron asked,
“Look, you’ve got no idea where the next Horcrux is, and neither do I but this, this means something. I’m sure of it.” Hermione explained,
“Yeah. Hermione’s right. We ought to see Lovegood. Let’s vote on it. Those in favor?” Ron spoke; I pulled back the curtain and fastened my coat. Hermione walked off moments later as I stepped forward.

“Warmer?” Harry asked, I nodded,
“Yeah.” I smiled as I rested my head on Harry’s shoulder.

As time went by we finally made it to Lovegood’s house in the middle of nowhere.

“Luna.” Ron spoke,
“Luna.” The rest of us spoke.

As I walked to the house Hermione made me put my bag in her back as I was unable to carry anything that heavy. I followed them behind feeling weaker then ever.

I sucked it up though, making sure to not show any sign of a weakness. I stood with Harry holding hands behind Hermione and Ron.

Keep off the dirigible plums.” Ron read the sign as we looked at the little orange things.

The top of the door opened and Xenophilius stood there,
“What is it? Who are you? What do you want?” Xenophilius asked, Harry let go of my hand and walked up to the top just behind Hermione,
“Hello, Mr. Lovegood. I’m Harry Potter. We met a few months ago. Could we come in?” Harry asked.

We all sat upstairs as I felt tired once again wanting to sleep,
“Where is Luna?” Hermione asked,
“Luna? She’ll be along.” Xenophilius spoke; I could sense he was lying, even after not drinking blood for a few months I can still tell when someone is lying.

Everybody had a quick drink except for myself as I sat next to Hermione,
“So how can I help you, Mr. Potter?” Xenophilius asked,
“Well, actually… It was about something you were wearing on your neck at the wedding. A symbol.” Harry spoke,
“You mean this?” Xenophilius held up a small golden charm, a triangle on the outside, a circle inside it, and then a line going down the middle of the triangle,
“Yes.” Harry answered, “That exactly. What we’ve wondered is, what is it?” Harry asked,
“What is it? Well, it’s the sign of the Deathly Hallows, of course.” Xenophilius spoke,
“The what?” the other three spoke,
“You mean the Deathly Hallows?” I asked, the others looked at me confused, Xenophilius nodded,
“I assume you’re all familiar with ‘The Tale of the Three Brothers’.” Xenophilius spoke,
“Yes.” Three of us spoke,
“No.” Harry spoke.

“I have it in here.” Hermione pulled out her book.

There were once three brothers who were traveling along a lonely, wining road at twilight.” Hermione spoke,
“Midnight. Mom always said ‘midnight.” Ron spoke as we all looked at him, “But ‘twilight’s’ fine. Better actually.” Ron added,
“Do you want to read it?” Hermione asked,
“No. It’s fine.” Ron answered.
