Lust for Death

The Locket

I was pacing backwards and forwards in the living room where Dobby was standing on the sofa,
“I don’t think we actually introduced ourselves properly. I’m Dobby.” Dobby smiled, I stopped and smiled at him sweetly,
“I’m Meira, but my friends call me Mei.” I offered my hand and he shook it,
“Harry Potter tells me that you are part vampire.” Dobby spoke, I nodded with a smile, “Harry Potter also tells me you mean a lot to him.” Dobby added, I grinned and sat down next to Dobby,
“Harry means a lot to me also.” I spoke, as Dobby sat down, “Harry sees something in me which most people don’t.” I explained,
“Yes, Harry Potter has a very kind heart.” Dobby spoke, I sat back,
“He does.” I smiled and bit my lip, “You should head off soon, just in case something does go wrong. I don’t think Harry would like it if you get caught up in something we’re doing.” I explained, Dobby smiled,
“Dobby will leave now then, tell Harry Potter and his friends it was nice to see them again. Dobby is also please to have met Harry Potter’s love.” Dobby spoke, I smiled when he said love,
“It was good to meet you also Dobby.” I spoke and shook his hand.

Dobby Disapparated.

I sighed and stood near the piano holding my mother’s crystal ball.

Next thing I heard a quick scream and I was Disapparating also.

I landed harshly on solid ground as I looked up to see trees and hear birds squawking. I heard yelling around me as I sat up.

I saw Harry and Hermione looking over Ron, I could smell blood strongly, I covered my nose and closed my eyes. Turning away I concentrated on something else, but the smell was so strong.

I felt a hand on my shoulder a while later,
“Are you ok?” Harry spoke, I sighed and nodded, then saw my mother’s crystal ball. I quickly ran over to it, picking it up I cut myself.

It was broken, I picked up half the crystal ball as tears formed in my eyes, there was a large piece missing. I looked around the area holding the one piece in my hand,
“Where is it?” I muttered, “Where is it?” I looked around more, Harry walked over to me and stopped me after he set up the tent himself.
“What’s wrong?” Harry asked, I held up my crystal ball, Harry taken it off me, he knew how much it meant to me. Harry pulled me into a hug as he held it securely, “Maybe if we find the other piece we can fix it?” Harry suggested, I shook my head,
“My mother’s was a very rare design. Only two of them were made. They each had a golden speck inside, see.” I pointed to the middle of the crystal ball where the golden speck was, “Once broken it cannot be fixed.” I explained.

A while later we did find the last piece, we securely put them together and into Hermione’s bag.

That night I was sitting outside the tent just looking out into the night. I thought about the crystal ball, and how much it had helped my mother, and how I just broke it. So easily.

* * *

“You first.” Hermione spoke towards Harry.

The locket was on a fallen tree, Harry pointed his wand towards it,
Dissendium” Harry spoke, the locket flew into the air and landed on the ground, the locket made a strang noise,
Incendio.” Hermione spoke, the locket burst into flames, but as quick as the flames appeared they vanished,
Expluso.” Hermione casted, the locket jumped away,
Diffindo.” I yelled, causing the locket to jump again,
Reducto.” Harry yelled, he then started waving his wand in anger trying to destroy the Horcux, I jogged over to him and stopped him, Harry walked over to the locket and picked it up. He put it over his neck.

“What are you doing?” I asked,
“We have to keep it safe until we find out how to destroy it.” Harry spoke,
“Seems strange, mate. Dumbledore sends you off to find all the Horcruxes but doesn’t tell you how to destroy them. Doesn’t that bother you?” Ron spoke,
“Don’t wear it. It might effect you in some way.” I whispered to Harry, he looked at me and taken my hand, he let go a few moments and walked off.

I was with Hermione as we walked back to the tent talking about other things. We got back to Harry to see him looking in shock, another vision from Voldemort,
“I thought it had stopped.” Hermione spoke, “You can’t keep letting him in, Harry.” Hermione spoke as I went and sat near Harry,
“You-Know-Who has found Gregorovitch.” Harry spoke,
“The wandmaker?” I asked, sitting down,
“He wants something that Gregorovitch used to have but I don’t know what. But he wants it desperately. I mean, it’s as if his life depends on it.” Harry explained, we heard the radio in the back, Harry snapped his head around,
“Don’t.” Hermione spoke, “It comforts him.” Hermione added,
“It sets my teeth on edge. What’s he expecting to hear, good news?” Harry snapped,
“I think he just hopes he doesn’t hear bad news.” Hermione spoke, Harry stood up.

“How long before he can travel?” Harry asked, Hermione looked up at Harry who looked away in annoyance,
“I’m doing everything I can.” Hermione spoke,
“You’re not doing enough!” Harry yelled he walked passed us as we both stared at each other in confusion.

“Take it off!” Hermione called, “I said, take it off now.” Hermione spoke standing up, Harry pulled off the Horcrux, “Better?” Hermione asked,
“Loads.” Harry replied,
“We’ll take it in turns, okay?” Hermione spoke and walked back to the tent as I went over to Harry.
