The Story of Rage and Love

Returning Of Times

When Billie started moving about, you couldn't help but wake up. He silently rolled off the edge of bed and out of the corner of your barely-awake eye you could see him slipping into his clothes.
For a reason unknown to you, you stayed still and pretended to sleep as you listened to his movements. The sound of the bustling of his jeans and the buttoning of his shirt continued, until he quietly slipped out the door. You sat up and stared at the blank wall opposite you containing the door that he had just exited through. Where he had gone was beyond you, but you let your head fall back to the pillow and ignored the violent protests of your heart.
Two hours later, your tired form dragged itself out of bed and finally walked out the very door Billie had left through earlier. Everything was still. The lights all remained on, and an eerie sense of being completely alone filled the apartment.
Suddenly, a crash sounded and a person coughed. You darted your head to the guest room that had been empty for months, ever since Mike and Tre moved out.
"Hello?" You asked carefully and slowly.
There was no answer, just the sound of someone's shallow breath descending upon the air.
"You know I can hear you," You said, trying to exude the confidence you so dearly needed at that moment.
Again, no answer.
You were very pregnant, and very nervous. So you heaved your overly-weighted body to the doorway of that room, and waited intently.
And then, as if in a nightmare, Brittany walked around the corner. She looked you up and down, and grinned.
"Gained some weight, have we?" She asked maliciously.
You bit your lip in embarrassment. "Well, it wasn't really.." You could barely speak. For some reason she was making you incredibly uncomfortable and all the more nervous. Your words stumbled out in incomprehensive heaps, and she stared at you with that familiar descending grin placed upon her face. You wanted to hit her so hard, and wipe the smile off her face with your bare fist, but stopped yourself. "Wha- what are you doing here?" You managed to get out through gritted teeth.
"I was here to see Billie Joe, actually," She said, looking around and examining your home. You instantly glared at her, and moved in front of her eyes as to break her view of the apartment.
"Why?" You asked simply.
"He owes me something. Besides, since when do I have to get your permission? He's a big boy, let him take care of it, okay?"
Then you spoke up for the first time since her arrival, "It has to go through me because I'm his wife, and I'm carrying his child, and in case you have yet to notice, you are in my home. So if you want to say something to him, it goes through me."
She raised her eyebrows at your bold statements, and how unlike you they were, but just shrugged her shoulders. "Fine, if you could tell him that he owes me.." She thought for a second, obviously adding things up in her mind, "about $563.00. And tell him I want it by next week."
You stared at her blankly for a couple seconds, then muttered, Alright, in an unsure voice.
She smiled, and then walked briskly out of the room, and you hoped out of your life.
A couple hours later, you were downtown shopping for baby clothes by yourself. Billie had yet to show up or call you, so you took his credit card and decided to do some financial damage in return. Brittany's little visit earlier didn't bother you too much, she was after all, Brittany. If she wasn't causing problems for someone she'd lose herself completely.
As you picked up a couple pieces of clothing here and there, you accidentally dropped your purse without noticing. Unaware of this, you kept walking through the quaint shop, stopping every couple feet to examine a possible purchase.
Suddenly you felt someone tap your shoulder gently. You swung around and were met nose to nose by a tall, slender boy with deep brown eyes.
He chuckled slightly, then backed up, "Sorry," He said under his breath as you did the same.
"It's okay," You said sweetly. He stared at you for a second, and a pause ensued. You raised your eyebrows in wonder as you waited for him to speak up.
"Oh, yeah-" He said, coming out of his temporary stupor. "Uh, you dropped this," He said looking at you as he reached out and handed you your purse.
You were busy smiling at his adorable British accent that you barely noticed the purse in front of you. Finally, after he looked down at it wondering why you had yet to take it from him, you shook your head and grabbed it quickly. "Thank you," You said, placing it sturdily on your shoulder, and looking back at him.
"Don't worry about it," He said amiably, staring holes into your skin at the same time. You couldn't help but grin again as his accent flirted with your mind. Your eyes fluttered and stared straight at the ground as to avoid looking at him again.
After a couple seconds, you smiled at him again, and mumbled, "Well, thanks," And began to walk away.
"Are you here by yourself?" He asked, stopping you from getting too far.
Swinging around quickly, you said, "Yeah, seems like it."
"But your pregnant," He said, stating the obvious.
You nodded and bit your lip, "Yes, it looks as if I might be." A hint of sarcasm flooded this statement, and he chuckled at that.
"No, I mean, don't you need someone with you at all times? When my mum was pregnant, she needed one of us to be with her at all times it seemed. But of course, that was a long time ago. I don't live with my mum anymore, I swear, He stammered nervously.
You laughed.
He made a nervous face then continued with his rambling, "I mean, she still lives London, and I-I moved here from Yorkshire just a couple months ago.. But my mum, she always had me with her...then."
"Well she was a very lucky lady," You managed to get in before he went off again. His anxiety was more then a little adorable, and you had to try with all your heart not to laugh again. "And I'm fine, I'm just walking around." You finished.
"Would you like me to walk with you?" He asked.
Biting your lower lip, you contemplated his offer. Then you looked at him, and said, "Sure, but would you like to tell me your name first?" With that he laughed loudly, then stopped abruptly and looked at you thoughtfully.
"I'm Mikelle." He answered.
You furrowed your eyebrows at his odd name, then told him your equally anomalous name. "I'm Sage," You said, reaching out and shaking his hand. He grinned, and stared deep into your eyes.
And then in a strange paradox, you and Mikelle walked away together, with Billie Joe's strange absence ever-clear in your mind.
