Right Here Waiting

Chase's POV

Ring.

Ring.

Ring.

I groaned loudly.

I felt the warm heat and strength of Cam's chest against my back and sighed deeply.

I didn't want to move.

But my cell phone just kept on ringing and ringing.

"Goddamn it." I groaned.

I tried to move and reach for my phone, but Cam's strong arm was wrapped around my waist.

The more I tried to move, the tighter he held me.

I turned my head slightly and looked at his peaceful face.

"Where you going?" He mumbled.

"Someone keeps calling me." I murmured.

His eyes slowly opened and the beautiful, light blue orbs were staring up at me.

I leaned forward and gave him a kiss.

"Hi." I said softly.

He smiled sweetly and pulled me in for another kiss.

"Hey beautiful." Cam said.

I looked down feeling the blush spreading across my face.

Cam tipped my head up and kissed my forehead.

"Who's been calling you?" He asked, laying back down.

"No idea. I went to check but you were being cuddly as a teddy bear and wouldn't let me go." I grinned.

"Can you blame me?" He asked with a smirk.

I rolled my eyes and stood up, going over to my cell phone.

"4 missed calls. Man I'm popular." I joked.

Cam chuckled and I could feel him watching me, it sent tingles down my spine.

I unlocked my phone and checked the call log.

"Charlie called me twice. Chad once. Chazz too." I said outloud.

My eyes narrowed in confusion.

"Is everything okay with them?" Cam asked, seeing the worried look on my face.

"I don't know. Haven't talked to them in a couple days. But if they're all trying to get a hold of me, something must be wrong." I said, my voice hitching at the end.

Cam was at my side instantly and I felt my hand shaking.

"What if something happened to my mom or dad?" I chocked, feeling a sharp pain in my chest at the thought.

Cam's hands cradled my face and made me look up at him.

"Breathe with me baby. Good. In and out. Nice and slow. There you go." He said calmly.

My breathing got to a more normal level and I continued to look into Cam's eyes, letting his calmness seep into me.

"I need you to stay calm, okay baby? You don't know if something's wrong. Your brothers could just want to talk to you. Now let's call them back, okay?" He said lowly.

I nodded and tried to keep my hands from shaking as I dialed my oldest brothers number.

He picked up on the first ring.

"Charlie! What's wrong?" I asked immediately.

"Wrong? What do you mean?" He said, clearly confused.

"I have four missed calls from you, Chazz and Chad. What's going on? Did something happen?" I asked.

Charlie chuckled and I swear if I was in front of him I would've kicked him in the balls.

"Nothing's wrong. Geez, and you call me a worry wart. I'm assuming since you didn't answer any of our calls then Cam is back." My brother said.

"I didn't answer cause you guys are calling at the butt crack of dawn." I said.

There was a pause.

"Sis, it's 12:30 in the afternoon. How's it going Cam?" My brother said knowingly.

Cam started to laugh.

"Hey Charlie. How are things?" He asked.

Before he got to answer I heard a bunch of voices talking all at the same time.

"What's up Cam!" Chazz yelled.

"When did you get back bro?" Channing said.

"Sis where are you?!" My baby brother yelled.

"Chance! What are you doing back from school?" I asked.

"Came home for the weekend. You're coming over today right?" He asked, his voice full of hope.

"Of course I am. I haven't seen you all in a few weeks I miss you guys. Is everyone off from work today?" I asked excitedly.

"Hell yeah!" They all yelled.

I smiled widely and Cam squeezed my hand.

"Dad's firing up the grill and mom's dying to see you both. So get your asses over here, pronto." Chad said.

I laughed.

"Yes sir." I said.

They started cracking up and we talked for a couple more minutes before I hung up and we got ready.

I live about an hour away from my parents, so the distance isn't too bad.

And I like having them close.

Plus my brothers aren't too far either.

We got to my parents house pretty quick.

Cam knew I was excited so he was speeding.

I practically jumped out of the car while it was moving.

I raced inside and beamed when I saw my mom standing in the kitchen.

"Mommy!" I squeaked, running over to her.

Her arms opened wide and she hugged me tightly, smoothing down my hair.

"Hi honey." She murmured.

"I've missed you guys these past few weeks." I said softly, laying my head on her chest.

"We would've loved to have you over sweetheart." She said.

"I've been in a funk, didn't want to bring everyone down with my bad attitude." I said.

My mom pulled away and looked at me.

"I know how hard it must be for Cam to be away, but you have us to fall back on anytime you need it. And your father's missed you." My mom said.

I hugged her tightly.

She pulled away and smiled behind me.

"So glad that you're home safe Cameron." My mom said warmly.

I turned and saw Cam standing in the doorway.

I hadn't even heard him come in.

Cam smiled and gave my mom a hug.

"Thanks Mrs. Reynolds." Cam said.

My mom swatted his arm.

"I've told you every time we've spent time together in the last three years to either call me Chandi or mom. Mrs. Reynolds makes me feel old." My mom said.

I chuckled.

"Oh hush. You don't look a day over 20." Came my dad's deep voice.

I spun around and saw my dad walking in from the backyard.

I grinned widely and ran over to him.

He picked me up and held me, spinning me in a circle until I giggled.

I'm a daddy's girl to the core.

I worship the ground my father walks on.

My brothers and father are the most amazing examples of what men are supposed to be like.

Growing up around such a high caliber of men, I never thought I'd meet someone who could measure up to them.

But then I met Cameron.

Boy was I wrong.

"I missed you daddy." I said after he set me down.

I felt a sharp smack on my butt and I jumped in surprise.

"Hey!" I protested.

"Your lucky I don't paddle your little ass. I haven't seen you in three weeks." My dad said.

I gave my best puppy eyes and looked up at him from under my eyelashes.

"I'm sorry daddy. It won't happen again." I said sweetly.

I heard deep chuckles and I smiled.

"It better not." My dad said, bending down to kiss my forehead.

"Yes sir." I said with a grin.

"You're such a push over when it comes to Chase." Channing laughed.

I grinned and peaked around my dad.

All of my brothers were standing at the back door.

I laughed and launched myself at them.

First Channing, then Charlie, Chad and then Chazz.

I looked around for Chance and didnt see him.

I saw the top of his head behind Chad's shoulder and I practically shoved him out of the way.

"Hey!" He complained.

"Little brother!" I exclaimed.

Chance grinned widely and I threw my arms around him while the rest of my brothers went over and greeted Cam.

"I missed you sis." Chance said.

"I missed you too. Hows college?" I asked him.

"It's great so far." He said happily.

"Any football games yet?" I asked.

"Tryouts just started so probably in a few weeks." He said.

"Okay let me know. I wanna be there." I told him.

He grinned and wrapped his arms around my shoulder.

I heard a sniffle and turned to see my mom dabbing at her eyes with a napkin.

"Ma, are you crying?" Channing asked.

She nodded and started to laugh.

"It's just so wonderful to have everyone home and safe." She said.

My dad went and wrapped her in his arms and she snuggled into his chest.

I grinned and joined the hug, and motioning to my brothers and Cam to come too.

They eventually got the hint and we were all in a group hug.

I, for one, didn't want to pull away.

The people in this room have such a huge space in my heart.

And it absolutely takes my breath away sometimes at how lucky I am to have them.

No one has a better family then me.

No one.
