"You look hot." Maria stated, marveling over me. I sat awkwardly in the saloon chair before I was being tugged into a small room.
"What are you doing?"
"I'm changing you're outfit."
"Okay...."I replied , letting Maria toss clothes at me. I slipped them all on, and she placed my hair. "Perfect." She smiled widely. "Come on,"
I nodded and allowed her to bring me back in the open.
"Ahhh. I've done it again." The hair stylist stated, looking over at Maria. "I didn't think that it could be done. But here she is...looking girly as you."
Maria crossed her arms.
"Never underestimate me." She stated. "But this newly found girly girl has a small date with her best friend."
"The one that she's hopelessly in love with?"
"I'm not in love." I replied, letting out an annoying sigh. "I just don't want him to marry that skank bag."
"You're impossible." Maria stated. "Sha'll we go? I've got more stuff to do before John and Kennedy get back."
"Where are they?"
"Kenny took him on a wild goose chase." She winked playfully.
"You TOLD Kennedy?!"
"Someone had to know." She shrugged. "Besides, you and Kenny are close. He wants you two together even more than I do."
"Is that even possible?" I asked, sligthly annoyed and surprised at her confession.
"Yes. It's very possible...now come on!" She stated, dragging me out of the saloon.
"I feel like people are staring at us." I mumbled toward Maria as we walked down the mall.
"That's because they are." She replied, flipping her hair. "Relax would you?"
I took in a deep breath and nodded.
"Okay."
"You're clearly overthinking this. It shouldn't be this hard for you to go a little girly."
"I know, I know. I'm sorry, Mar. This....just this whole situation is nervewrecking." I tried to explain. "I've..."
"Never had these feelings?" She questioned, looking at me. I nodded and bit my bottom lip. "It's okay to be a tad bit scared, Dia." She laughed.
"How do I know if he likes it or not?"
"Trust me...you'll know." She stated, linking her arm with mine. "Now let's get to your house before they do."

Soon after we left the mall, we got back to the house I shared wtih John. Maria drug me up stairs and forced me in the bathroom where she could fix my make-up.
"You should wear make-up more often."
"I wear it at events."
"That's not the same." She giggled. "Eyeliner looks killer on you."
"Are you sure? I've never really put it on..."
"I know." She replied quickly. "But now you have! John's jaw will drop when he sees you tonight."
"I hope you're right."
"I-."
"HONEY I'M HOME!"
My eyes when wide.
Maria was just fixing my bangs, but all movement stopped.
"Shit! That's John." I whispered harshly.
"I'll distract him! Finish your bangs!"
"Fine." I hissed back as she left the room.
"Hi guys!" Maria stated loudly.
I turned around and looked at myself in the mirror.
"Wow." I stated, looking over myself.
My hair came down past my boobs. My hair was blonder, and I was wearing make-up and a dress. It hugged my body, letting my slight curves show. I looked down at my blue vans, and I smiled. At least they looked uber cute and matched my dress. I got out of wearing heels or sandals. I looked back up and quickly fixed my bangs before I took in a deep breath. I was actually going to do this. I was trying to win over my best friend.
Slowly but surely, I made my way down the massive stairs and into the dinning room where three of my best friends were currently standing.
"Kennedy got us fucking lost. He said to go left and then right and le...Dorinda?" John stopped mid-sentance, staring at me carefully. Maria and Kennedy turned around. Maria looked proud and Kennedy looked a lot like John did...surprised.
"Hi?" I laughed, trying my best to keep my voice from shaking. "What are you guys talking about?"
John's mouth was hanging open as he stared me down.
I felt a slight blush creep up on my cheeks.
"I...huh?" John replied.
I giggled.
"I asked what you guys were talking about before I came down here."
"Uh..I...uh...nothing." He smiled, finally closing his slack jaw.
Maria playfully winked at me before she laced her hand with Kennedy's.
"We've gotta go, guys."
"Yeah..um...I have to...clean?" Kennedy stated before they both hugged me and moved toward the door.
"Dia..." John sighed. "You look..."
"Awful? Weird...bad? Different?"
"Different yes...but the word I was looking for was beautiful." His smile was small, and I could tell he was nervous.
He got so freaking shy in front of girls.
Pretty girls.
"Oh...I..uh....thanks." I smiled weakly.
"You're welcome." He laughed. "Are you ready to eat?" He asked me.
I nodded.
"I'm really hungry."
"Okay." He smiled, offering me his hand.
I started at it for a second before I gladly took it. John does that all of the time, but this time it felt different. It felt different because this time...I was out to still his heart. I wanted to distroy his wedding.
And that didn't set well with me.

"I got you something for London."
My eyes grew twice their size.
"No way!" I nearly yelled.
"Yes way!" He mocked. "Here you go, Dorinda."
John pulled out a small box and handed it to me. I opened it up to find a antique looking camera necklace.
"Johnny...this is perfect." I smiled brightly at him.
And to think I was extremely nervous before we got here.
"You like it?"
"I love it." I smiled. "Will you help me put it on?" I questioned.
"Sure thing." He laughed before he stood up from his side of the table and I lifted my hair. John took the necklace in his hands and he unlatched it. John's warm finger tips brushed the back of my neck as he latched it. His hands slowly trailed off of me. "Okay. All done." He whispered.
I dropped my hair and chill bumps appeared on my arms.
"Thanks." I laughed nervously. "I love it, John. I seriously do."
"I knew that you would." He laughed. "You like stuff like that."
"Well...yeah." I returned his laugh. John's smile widened and he stared at me. I felt my cheeks heat up. "What?"
"Nothing." He chuckled. "You....you're different."
"I feel different." I joked back, but it wasn't a lie. I seriously did feel different around him. It was new and weird, but the feeling was nice all at the same time.
"You're blushing." He pointed out.
"Yupp," I nodded, looking away as my cheeks heated up even more.
"It's cute."
I giggled, and took a sip of my drink.
"So Julie gets in today?"
"Yeah. She's staying at a motel."
"Why not our house?"
"Would you prefer her to?" He asked me, raising an eyebrow at me.
"No. That's not what I'm saying at all." I quickly added. "I just...I thought that you'd rather spend time with her."
"Dorinda...it's our best friend's day. Nothing is more important than you today. Hell, nothing has ever been more important than you."
"Julie is." I mumbled, not meaning to hear me.
But of course he did.
"Not even Julie. Dia...you're my number one. Forever and always."
That alone gave me hope.
