Perfect Christmas

Perfect Christmas (His Side)

I had never really been one for Christmas, mainly because my family never had the time or money to celebrate it. We never even sat down for a dinner. Mom would make the food just before she had to go to work, and we would all eat in separate area's of the house, avoiding each other. That’s just how I was raised. But when I met Mia, everything changed. She was such a happy-go-lucky girl, and she was so carefree. Nothing like the girls I had been with before. She loved trying to spoil me and give me everything I wanted because of how I had lived and what I had put up with, but just having her with me, it made me smile in the morning.

But this morning was different. Im not a morning person, and I get cranky very easily when I don’t sleep right. This morning, was the day we were supposed to decorate the apartment, and she had been looking forward to it all month long. So the first thing I feel in the morning, is her weight on my stomach, bouncing on me.

“Wake up wake up wake up!!” She chanted as she bounced. I was having a hard time breathing each time she bounced and croaked out.

“Baby, quit!” She was quick to stop and stare at me a little nervously, as if she had done something wrong. I laid my hands on her waist and softly rubbed her sides. “Baby, its early in the morning still.... Im really tired and your jumping is hurting me.”

She gave a small whimper and pouted when she leaned down, nuzzling into my neck. “I'm sorry hunny! I just wanted to do this for soo long.....” She gave another whimper and I couldn’t help but wake up then. It was our first Christmas together under one roof and she wanted to make it perfect.

“Ok baby.... Im up... Lets go get this done.” I spoke lightly before kissing her head gently. She shot up with a wide grin and squealed as she hopped off me and skipped out the door. It was going to be a long day, but I just couldn’t do anything but smile. I loved that girl like no other ever could, and she knew it. So, when I got up, I slipped my usual shorts on and walked out into the living room, seeing all sorts of boxes sprawled over the floor.

I gave a worried look, and spoke hesitantly. “Baby, just how many decorations do you have?” She looked up at me and gave me a stupid grin.

“Well, That’s the tree, this is for the tree, this for the living room, this is for the kitchen, this for the bedroom, and these are for random spots in the apartment and outside.” She pointed to each individual box as she named them out. I felt a twinge of anger, but only because I didn’t get enough sleep. I thought it was going to be a quick job and then I could sleep in some more, but it looked like it was going to turn into a full days work.

Grabbing the tree box, I shooed her away to the kitchen as I slowly put the tree together. I didn’t know exactly where to put it, so I built it in the middle of the living room. As if she knew, whee I had it screwed into the base and done, she walked in to check on me. She gave a giddy jump and bounced into my arms with a giggle.

“You finished it!” She gave a small gasp as she looked at how I had spaced it all, making it look like a real tree.

“Yep. Now, where do you want it?” I asked as I nuzzled her head some, glancing over her face, then the tree. She leaned away from me a bit and began to look around the room, seeing where it could fit before seeing an empty spot by the tv.

“How about right there?” She spoke out as she pointed at the spot. I gave a light chuckled and shrugged as I let go of her waist and moved over to the tv stand, pulling it and the large fifty inch plasma a few steps away from the corner. I then grabbed the tree and set it in the corner as she had asked, only to hear a squeal again and feel her arms around my waist. “Its perfect hunny!”

I smiled and patted her hand as she nuzzled my back before she let go and grabbed the box for the tree. She opened it up and handed me one of the smaller boxes in it which contained white lights with a snowflake design over it. “Check these to see if any of the lights are broke and replace them?” She almost asked and demanded at the same time. I chuckled and nodded as I grabbed her ass and gently pushed her towards her unfinished work in the kitchen.

She gave a cute little giggle as she wiggled her ass at me before continuing her work in the kitchen. Shaking my head with a smile, I pulled the lights out and plugged them in, beginning my check. Not to my surprise, more then a few of the lights were broke. I grabbed the replacements and began to replace the ones I could before seeing that I still needed a couple more to finish the strand.

“Mia.” I called out as I looked at the tree and then back at the lights. When she came in rather quickly, worried something had happened, I smiled and showed her the dilemma. “We don’t have enough lights to finish the strand.”

“Well, can you go buy some?” She asked with a slight pout. She wanted this Christmas to be perfect in every way. I got up and moved to the window, glancing out to see the snow storm slowly picking up. The road was slick and covered in ice.

Shaking my head, I looked back at her. “No. The storm picked up and the road is frozen. Its too dangerous.” She whimpered again and started to shuffle about a bit before I moved to her and hugged her close. “Im sorry baby. But I can make it to where the bad lights are on the wall side of the tree, so we don’t see them.” I felt her hug my waist close and nodded into my chest.

Leaning back a bit, I gently leaned down and kisses her on the lips, looking into her eyes. “Baby, my Christmas is already perfect with you in it.” With that single sentence, she was bright and smiling once more before she slammed her lips to mine and kissed me deeply. I smiled against her lips and kissed her back. We stood there for a long moment, locked in our love before she broke the kiss softly and went back to her kitchen work, leaving me to do what was necessary to the tree.

It didn’t take very long to mark the bad ones, get the lights on the tree and switch everything out, and once I was done, I stood back to admire my rather average handy work. From the front of the tree, you couldn’t see any bad light, at all. When Mia had finally gotten the kitchen done, she came out to admire the tree with me.

“Its so beautiful.” She spoke lightly as she hugged my arm. Smiling, I leaned down and kissed her on the head. She giggled softly before looking up at me and pecking my lips with hers. “Let get it decorated!” She spoke in a very energetic tone. I couldn’t help but agree.

We had spent almost five hours, sitting next to each other, rummaging thru the box and its decorations. We picked out the bad ones and put them in the light box so we could throw them away later. After all was said and done, we had gotten all the good decorations up and on the tree. It sparkled from the way the lights were hitting the shiny ornaments and it made Mia gasp in awe at how beautiful it was. I was captivated myself and couldn’t stop staring.

But soon after that, we both got up and grabbed a box, continuing to decorate the apartment. We were smiling and talking all our little nonsense while we worked, talking about how she wanted to have this kind of Christmas with me every year. It was cute to hear her talk about the future and in my mind, I hoped, prayed and wished she would never leave my side. When we got the last of the decorations done in the bedroom, we walked back into the living room, hand in hand.

The tree was just so beautiful, we decided to turn the regular lights off and cuddle on the couch. I had glanced at the clock to see the time, and saw we had spent all day from almost eight in the morning to seven in the afternoon decorating the house. Suffice to say, I was thoroughly woken up. I had her nestled warm and cozy in my arms, her hands twined with mine. It had been a long day, as I had predicted, but it ended perfectly.

“I love you, Mia... And even tho I don’t care for Christmas, I enjoyed doing this because I was with you....” I gently let her go and sat her on the couch before holding a finger up to tell her I would be right back. What better way to finish off the perfect day then to do what I had planned? I slipped into our room, grabbed a small velvet box from under my cloths and moved back into the living room. When I did, I could see the confusion on her face, but it all cleared up when I got down on one knee and held out my hand with the box in it.

“Mia Carpenter...” I opened the box to show her the ring I had gotten her, her birth stone in the middle of it with my birthstone surrounding it on a silver band. “Will you marry me?” My heart was skipping beats left and right and I just stared at her as I sat there, waiting for my answer....
