Demise.

thirty-two.

When Norah came back to school, Angelique didn’t even think about looking at her or Prosper. Angelique had a broken nose and she had short hair which meant Angelina’s extensions had been ripped from her head.

Prosper had snuck up behind Norah and wrapped his arms around her.

“I’m so glad you’re back.”

Norah laughed leaning back into Prosper. “That’s like the third time you’ve said this Prosper.”

“Am I not allowed to express my excitement to see my girlfriend? I’m very upset now.”

Norah smiled and took Prospers hand in hers curling their fingers. They walked together hand in hand to class talking about how Norah’s lockdown really wasn’t all that bad to her-watching re-runs of House and Bones was actually pretty entertaining.

“Norah, I want you to meet my mom.”

Prosper stops looking at Norah and she looked back becoming extremely nervous.

“Prosper.. I-don’t .. uhm.”

He smiled and took her face in his hands. “There’s nothing to be afraid of Norah, my mom’s been dying to meet you.”

She flushed and smiled faintly. “Okay.”

Prosper knew Norah would be a little nervous, figuring his mom was in rehab, but underneath the drugs and alcohol his mom was the nicest woman alive. He dropped Norah off at her class and kissed her lightly.

“I’ll see you later.”

She smiled walking into her class and Prosper went to find Chris.

***
Chris was sitting in a study hall with four other people and they all looked at Prosper when he walked in and gave him a little glare.

“Chris, I need help.”

He smiled and leaned back in his chair and sighed.

“Oh what is it now Prosper?”

“I want to get Norah an Christmas gift, like a good one.”

Chris laughed and leaned forward. “You really are taking this seriously aren’t you?”

Prosper scrunched his eyebrows up at Chris and he smiled.

“You are serious. Okay Prosper, what does Norah like?”

Prosper thought hard to himself, he really didn’t know what Norah really liked except for the piano.

“She really likes piano.”

Chris rubbed his chin thinking. There really wasn’t much to do with just piano. Prosper could find tickets to a piano recital, but he didn’t want to seem boring.

“How about you write her a song dude. You play guitar I’m sure she’d love that-and you’re not spending money either.”

After Chris said that Prosper had gotten a great idea. He got up quick and ruffled his hair.
“This is why you’re my best friend, thanks Chris.”

“No problem.” he said grinning.

Prosper was going to do anything in his power to make this special for Norah and he knew exactly how to do it.
