Admiring From Afar

Zack’s POV

All Zack’s been think about lately was the kiss with Cassandra…he couldn’t get her beautiful blond hair and blue eyes out of his mind. He was beginning to realize that he like her as more than a friend. He knew that he had to tell her soon or else he might miss his chance…well, he would never miss his chance since they were in an arranged marriage but he thought that it would be better if their marriage had real love in it.

Zack had spent the entire day just thinking about what he should do with the feelings he’s been developing for Cassandra… Should he tell her right now? Should he wait a little bit and then tell her to make sure that his feelings were real? Zack was leaning towards the second idea. He wanted to make sure that his feelings were real. Also, he wasn’t too sure about how Cassandra felt for him and maybe if they spent more time together she’ll start feeling the same way if she hasn’t started already.

Zack decided that he would call Cassandra and ask if she wanted to hang out with him today at his house.

“Hello?” he heard on the other line and immediately started to smile.

“Hi, Cass, it’s Zack. I was wondering if you wanted to hang out today?”

“Sure, I’d love to!”

“Awesome. Do ya wanna come over now?”

“Sure, but is it okay of Kelsey comes over?” Zack’s smile faltered when he heard that Cass would have to bring her sister to hang out with them, but figured it was better that nothing.
“Sure.”

“Cool, I’ll see you in ten.”

“Fantastic, bye.”

“Bye.” Zack hung up and couldn’t help but smile to himself silly. He couldn’t wait until he saw her again. He started to think of a few ideas that they could do. They could watch a movie, watch tv, play video games… After thinking of a few things for them to do he decided to get dressed and clean up his room a little bit before Cassandra and Kelsey came over. He got dressed and then started to pick up the random pieces of clothing lying on his floor. He also sprayed a little bit of axe around his room so that it would smell a little more pleasant he then sprayed a little bit on himself and then walked down the stairs. He turned on the tv and waited for their arrival.

Knock, knock.

He heard someone knock on the door and he rushed to the door and opened it to reveal Cassandra and Kelsey. He couldn’t help but look Cassandra up and down and smile. He thought she looked beautiful and couldn’t help but smile.

“Checking me out, Mr. Merrick?” Cassandra asked him while smirking. Zack blushed when he heard this. He just shook his head and let them inside the house.

“So, I was thinking we could watch a movie?” Zack suggested.

“Yes!” Kelsey yelled. “Can I pick it out?” she asked while her bottom lip sticking out.

“Sure, the movies are over there,” Zack told her while pointing to a large stack of movies.

Kelsey ran over there and started looking through the movies.

“Thanks for letting me bring her here,” Cassandra said while a smile.

“It’s no problem. I’m glad that you guys could come over,” Zack told her while looking down and smiling.

“How’ve you been?” Cassandra asked him after a few awkward seconds.

“Good, you?” Zack asked her.

“Same,” she told him.

A few more awkward seconds passed between the two.

“Well, I’m going to go see which movie she picked out,” Cassandra told him and quickly walked over to her sister.

Once she was a few feet away Zack started muttering to himself.

“Why couldn’t you’ve been smoother? You totally made a fool out of yourself, dammit!” Zack told himself. He imaged himself being a hell of a lot smoother when he saw Cassandra. He silently shook his head and walked over to where Cassandra and Kelsey were sitting.

“So, what movie did you guys pick out?” Zack asked them.

“Hercules!” Kelsey exclaimed.

“Yeah, once she saw that you had Hercules she didn’t look at another movie,” Cassandra told him.

“Cool, let’s watch it,” Zack said while picking up the movie and putting it in.

They all sat down and waited for the movie to start.

“Does anyone want popcorn?” Zack asked them.

“Yeah!!” Kelsey said while a big smile.

“You don’t have to,” Cassandra told him right after Kelsey agreed.
“But I want popcorn!!!” Kelsey protested.

“Well, we can't let the kid go hungry,” Zack told Cassandra.

He got up and went into the kitchen and got out a bag of popcorn.

“You don’t have to,” he heard someone say. He turned around and saw Cassandra standing there.

“I want to, what type of host would I be if I didn’t offer my people food?” he asked her.

“Let me at least help you,” she told him.

“Well, there isn’t much to help with making popcorn…” Zack told her.

“Oh, right, well I’ll help anyway,” she told him.

“Okay, you can get the drinks…if you want any that is,” he offered to her.

“Okay,” Cassandra said.

“Well, we have water, orange juice, Coke, root bear, and Dr. Pepper,” Zack told her.

Cassandra walked over to the fridge and got out one can of Dr. Pepper and another can of Coke.

“What do you want?” Cassandra asked him.

“Dr. Pepper please,” Zack told her.

Cassandra got out another can of Dr. Pepper and set them down on the counter.

“Um, do you mind telling me where the cups are?” Cassandra asked.

“Yeah, they’re in the cabinet right above your head,” Zack told her. She got them out and Zack couldn’t help but stare at her when she poured the tree drinks into three separate cups. She pushed some hair behind her ear but it just kept on falling back into her face. Zack reached out and pushed the hair back behind her ear. Cassandra had stopped pouring when he did this and looked up at him with red covering her face. Zack just blushed and they stared intently at each other. They were both heavily blushing right now and Zack couldn’t help himself. He walked a little bit closer to her and placed his lips on hers. They started to kiss for a few seconds but then pulled away startled when they heard the microwave beep signaling that the popcorn was ready. Zack blushed and walked over to the popcorn and took it out of the microwave he opened it and let the steam out of the bag before pouring it into a big bowl. He looked over at Cassandra and noticed that she was watching him the whole entire time.

“Cass!” they heard Kelsey yell, “the movie’s starting!”

Cassandra and Zack just looked at each other and walked back into the other room. They put the popcorn and soda on the table and sat next to each other and started to watch the movie.

But Zack couldn’t concentrate on the movie. He could only concentrate on what happened back in the kitchen. Now, he knew that was falling in love with Cassandra…
