I'd Lie

As soon as his lips touched mine, my phone went off. I picked it up.

"Hey, mom," I called into the phone.

"Maddie, it's already 11."

"Seriously?"

"Yes."

"Okay. Can Hutch come over?" I looked at him.

"I don't think so, sweetie."

I sighed. Of course. "Okay. I'm coming."

"Okay. Bye. Love you."

"Bye," I said, hitting the end button.

"What's wrong?"

"She won't let you come with me," I said, standing up.

"Well, maybe it's for the best. I'd wanna hurt that Jonas anyways," he smiled.

I smiled. "I love you."

"I love you, too. How about this?" he said, standing up also. "I'll walk you and the dogs over." He took my hand and started walking.

Why can't he come over!? Darn you, mother!

"Have your iPod?" Hutch asked.

"Yep! In my pocket." I touched my pocket to make sure.

"Call me if anything happens." He sounds so much like my mom.

"I know, momma," I smiled at him.

"Now that's mean. I hope you have something to make up for that."

I kissed his cheek. "Better?"

"Not really," he smiled.

I kissed his lips hard. "Better now?" I questioned him.

"Definitely!" he declared. "I love you."

"I love you, too."

Hutch left and it was just me and the dogs.

"To the backyard!" I yelled to them and ran to the gate.

Oh, the sweet smell of Kevin and Joe fighting!
