I'm Not Who Everyone Thinks I Am

02.

Someone noticed.
In the gym locker room while I was changing in to sweatpants.
I got pushed in to a table.
Believable?
Not really.

But that's why the cuts are in random places on my body.
I never understand why people put them all in a straight line in one area.
It makes it so obvious.
That's how I got caught the first time.

Now I'm smarter.
One on my bottom left leg, three on my left thigh, two on my right thigh, only one on my right wrist.

I always made sure they didn't leave scars.
Apart from that first time.

After that first time, I know not to cut so deep, though I make mistakes sometimes.
I was close to death that night.
Yet nobody cared.

She isn't a cutter, they said.
It was an accident, they said.
If only they knew the truth.

It was the farthest thing from an accident.
