Humpty Dumpty

Lauralei Quinn was very, very average. She had average, mousy brown hair, average hazel eyes (not the “pretty” kind that change color), an average build, she wore average clothes. She was just average. Of course, unlike anyone else who belongs to the “average” group, there were a few things about her that, well, weren’t.

She had an un-average talent for singing. She loved to sing more than anything in the world. That one un-average thing about very average Laureli Quinn is the center of our story. It’s not a happy story--average stories rarely are.

It all started on a very average summer day.
