Life Starts After Dark

Hayley ran to her car in th drabbling rain,a news paper over her head.Once inside her car Hayley quickly threw her weekleys paper in the drivers seat then fixed her rear view mirror
before starting up her car.She was on her way home from picking up her dad's paper.
Though she knew he would've been mad,because she used it as cover in th rain.Its not
like he can't buy another one,Hayley thought.She turned around in her driver's seat and looked out through her back window and starting backing her car up.And as soon as she
was out,another car automatically took her place.

Hayley drove down her neighborhood listening to Beyonce on her stereo.The song that was
playing was All The Signal Ladies.Her favorite jam,it always get to her,because she was sig-
nal and was proud of it.She don't think when she become an adult that she would ever get
marry.Because for one thing,she want to be her own boss,not have some pissed of husband tell her how to run things,and secondly she did'nt want children.And sometime's
men want to have kids.Not something she would appreciate of.Taking care of them little
rascal while he go out to parties and drink beers.Not gonna happen,Hayley thought.She turned the corner on 5th Ave.passing up an old man name Mr.Batt excercising in the rain.
Hayley honked her horned,and Mr.Batt looked at her smiling and then waved.And thats when she hit her breaks,because a police car passed her up flying towards the direction of
her house.Hayley watched as it turned the corner on Columbus where she lived.Putting her
foot on the gas,Hayley followed right behind the police car.Moving with full speed.

Hayley parked her car behind a police.She could see her house
in front of it,and saw that it was flaming high,sparks flying from it."Oh God"Hayley said,she
unbuckled her seat belt and jumped out the vehicle.It was'nt raining hard anymore,but it
sure was drizzling.Running on the damp road toward her house Hayley shouted,"MOM,DAD!!!" She started running towards the door,but was stoped roughly by a black winter jacket.

"Mam,you can't go in there"the police men said.She could hear other sirens in the distance
and a big fire truck quickly pulled up in front of her house.Firemen ran out of the truck at
full speed holding a long hose.One of the firemen twisted the hose pipe and water flew out
of it at full blast,while five firemens kicked down her house door and ran inside the flaming house.

Hayley started beating on the arms of the police men."You have to let me in there!!"She shouted.
"I'm sorry ma'm but I just--"

Hayley did'nt wait to hear whatever else he had to say,she ducted under his arms and bolted
for her house."STOP HER!!"She heard the police men shout from behind her.Firemens that
were standing by the door quickly turned to her.One of them tried to stop her,but she had moved to the side out of his outstretched hand,while the other tried to grab her.But it was to
late for them,because Hayley had already ran threw gap door.

Flameing wood stood in front her but she walked over them and started running inside.
"Mom! Da--"Hayley coughed when she walked into a thick fogg of smoke.Grabing the egde
of her sweater sleeve she quickly covered her mouth with and continued her search.

Where were they? Her parents were traped in here,or they were already dead? No,they can't
be,Hayley thought.She remembered before she had left the house,her mom was on the phone talking to the 1-800 Service while her dad was in the bathroom taking a hot bath.
So how could the house be on fire? Unless of course,someone set it on fire.

Walking passed a huge woood that had fell from the ceiling Hayley made her way up the zig
zagged stairs that led up to their bedroom.The stairs were'nt destroyed,yet.But Hayley was
still surprised when they held their ground.

After she was she climbed the last step Hayley bolted for her parents room.Flame's covered
the door,making it hard for her to open the door.Removeing her sleeve from her mouth,
Hayley took of her sweater.She started coughing,but she did'nt care,she had to get inside.
Get inside to try and see if her mom and dad were still alive.

Fanning at the door with her sweater and coughing Hayley watched as the flame's started disappearing.Streak by streak minusing by the minute.Once they were all out,Hayley stepped back from the door,just an inch,and kicked it down.To reveal an destroyed room.
Covered with flame's all over the place.Her parents curtains were destroyed,their bed was flaming high,and her daddy's study desk,had flaming paper's burning on top it.

The room was ruined.It looked like a Tornado had attacked it,followed by hell itself.And Hayley was sure nothing could've possibly survived it.

"No"she said,dropping to her knee's.A firewood fell behind her.But she did'nt care,because
if she was going to die,she would have wanted to go with them.Not walk the Earth without
her parents guiding her.

Then she heard shout's,and she knew it was the five firemens that had came in for the rescue."No,it can't be happening"Hayley tranced.She felt an arm grab her elbow,lifting her
of the floor.But she shoved away.Not wanting to leave her corspeing house.

"Mam we have to GO!"The fire men yelled at her.Hayley shook her head."NOT WITHOUT THEM!!"She yelled back.

"Mam,their dead.There's nothing you can do! Now come ON!"

The firemen reached down and grabed her by the elbow hard this time.She tried to shove
away but he was to strong and had lifted her of the ground.Then catching her by surprise,
he had thrown her over his shoulder.

"Let me go!"Hayley shouted beating on his back.The firemen coughed and yelled at his
comrade's."I got her,lets move!" And before you know it,the firemen had ran pass the falling
wood and had sprinted for the stairs.Hayley dangling in his arms.

"NO!"Hayley shouted,she beated on his back harder."Let me down! Take me back to them!"
But the firemen did'nt listen.He just kept on running until he was out the already burning door.
