Chapter 1
Hayley parked her car in front of her apartment door.She had just came back from an job interview for becaming a hostest at a bar.Though it was'nt a job she was planning on having
but after droping out of college,well its probally the only one she could possibly find.
Grabing her brown leather purse,Hayley steped out of her car.She could smell the dampness from the rain.Filling her nose like wet copper.But it was'nt new to her,because here in Merlotte's Louisianna it alway's would rain.And she thought she had escaped from
all that rain.Leaving the city of Seattle just to come and live down here.But it turns out where
ever she would go,the rain would always follow her.

Hayley opened her apartment door and tossed her keys on the kitchen counter.Her feet was
killing her from the snake heels she wore to the interview,they felt as if though a tow truck had ran over them.Walking over to her living room and slumped in her black leather sofa.Hayley stretched over in her seat and unbuckled her heels,then kicked them of,sending them flying across the room.
I feel so alone,Hayley thought.And she litterly did feel alone.Ever since her parents died she
felt like an empty torquise.Just wondering this planet in a deep trance,still not beliveing that
they were dead.It was'nt until she had thearpy did she get over their death.But it did'nt just took a moment,it almost took a whole year.A whole year it took for her to give in and know that they were dead.That they left this planet and is now in a better.But them leaving also
meant the answer's she wanted from them,went with them.The answer's she wanted
on knowing who she really was.Or more likely WHAT she really was.
The strange power she had since she was 5 that she did'nt tell them about and learned how
to use them when she had turned 17,but still she never really did know where her power's
came from.And if they were from her parents.She was pretty sure they would have told her.
From the time she was 5.But they did'nt,Hayley thought,how could they NOT tell me.
Sighing she though about her foster home's.Ever since her parents death and she had no where to go,she had to be given up in foster care.Going from foster home to foster home to
foster home.None of them really good foster home's though.One time she had actually ended up in abusive father's home.But he would never hurt her--'cuz she was'nt for him---but
he sure would hurt his wife and his two children.Causing a huge tantrum that involved the po
lice once.
But Hayley was blessed when she had got accepted into college.Blessed that she could leave that hell of a family with their drama and their issue's.
And when she got to college she had met her first best friend.Her name was Jaelyn.They
used to do alot of thing's together,it was almost as if though they were like sister's.But one
night,Jaelyn's clothe's were dirty and she had decided to go to Laundry Matt to get her clothe's clean.
Hayley had had a vision about a group of gangbanger's attacking her in a dark alley way.She
had tried to persuade Jaelyn not to go,but she just would'nt listen.
"Don't go Jaelyn,I have a really bad feeling about this"she told her.Jaelyn snorted,"Don't worry.I'm just going to wash my clothe's,its not like something BAD is gonna happen" and she had walked out the door.With a full basket of clothe's.
And the next day,Jaelyn's name had popped up the new's.Thats when Hayley knew that it was her time to get the hell out.
Hayley leaned her head up agianst her leather sofa and reached for her remote.Just as she
was about to turn on the t.v. she heard a knock at the door.
