She Quenched My Thirst

Bella’s body which was covered in blood started to twitch and jerk around in Rosalie’s arms. Rosalie and Edward were frozen for a very short amount of time before everyone snapped into action.

Edward and Rosalie shot upstairs with Bella in Rose’s arms. Soon Jacob sprinted up after them. I followed too and saw the room where they brought her was set up like a medical ward.

Bella was one the table in the center of the room and people were unnecessary shouting.

“What’s happening?” That was Edward

“He’s suffocating!” I’m not sure about that probably Rosalie.

“The placenta must have detached!” Edward again.

I stepped in to help but then it hit me like a wrecking ball to a small unfortunate rodent. The smell of all the blood was getting to me. I tried to fight off my instincts but they were winning.

“She is going to die. You will just make it faster and pain less.” My inner instincts told me. I took a deep breath and stepped forward feeling my golden eyes darken immensely.

I knew Edward was too distracted to listen to what was going through my head. I got closer and closer to Bella’s flopping body just as she threw up more blood. I reached out to grab her but I was being harshly yanked away.

Whoever was pulling at me was a lot smaller but still strong. I scratched at my captor but they didn’t release me. I was ruthlessly dragged from the room and kicked down the hall. I rolled but got back up quickly. I saw Alice standing in front of the room I was thrown out of protectively.

I lunged at her hell bent on get that blood. She caught me by the back of my shirt and threw me away again. This time and went through the banister and fell down to the first floor. The splintered wood from the banister fell onto me as I got back up.

I tried to think of a way to get around Alice I heard her cry “Seth get Stella out of here.” I turned my attention to the tall gangly wolf.

He jumped at me but I stepped out of the way and tried to climb back up to get the blood. The scent was still dancing around in my nostrils and making me crazier than usual.

Seth caught hold of my arm and pulled me to the ground again. His hot arms wrapped around my waist and harshly dragged me out of the house. I was clawing at him and when he released me I fell a little longer than I thought I would.

I gasped as I hit the water and sunk to the bottom. I crossed my arms over my chest and sighed. It wasn’t a good idea because a ton of water flooded my lungs and cut off my breath.

I swam back up to the surface and climbed out of the river. “Are you better?” Seth asked innocently.

I gave him a dirty look and opened my mouth to say something. But nothing came out so I closed it back. I couldn’t talk without air and air was not currently in my lungs where it belonged.

We heard Leah stepping out into the open and growling at Seth. “Sorry I have to go on patrol now. Stay out of the house.” Seth told me darting off to phase.

I reached out after him but he ran to fast and I fell over. I sat up crossed my arms and tried to huff. I was still dripping wet from my dip so I dried myself off and attempted to move the water out of my body. I never tried to move around the liquid in my own body because I never saw the need to.

Now I didn’t know how so I was stuck not breathing and not talking. Oh the HORROR I thought to myself as I pounded on my chest in another attempt to get the water out. I shook my head when it didn’t work and listened inside the house.

Rosalie was down stairs holding something, probably the baby, in her arms and cradling it. Edward was upstairs trying to save Bella and start the vampire transformation. Jacob was in between floors shaking with anger.

I think it was safe for me to go inside.

I stepped inside and looked at Rosalie cradling the cloth wrapped baby. I saw Jacob sneaking up behind her.

What was he doing? I thought to myself. Jacob looked like he was about to lunge forward and kill Rosalie and the baby. I couldn’t let that happen and I couldn’t say anything so I got myself into position to attack Jacob at the perfect time but that time never came.

Jacob stopped and was starting at the baby like it was god. I waved my hand in front of his face but he didn’t respond to me. I tapped Rosalie on the shoulder and held my hands out for the baby. She looked like she didn’t want to give it up but she did.

I cradled the baby carefully and watched as Jacob’s eyes moved along with it. I tapped Rose’s shoulder again and pointed to Jacob.

“Earth to mutt, why are you staring? You hated her a few hours ago.” Rosalie asked getting up to refill the baby’s bottle.

“I think, I mean, well I’m not entirely sure but I think I might have imprinted.” He said in a breezy type of voice. I glanced at Rosalie confused and she asked “You fell in love with Bella’s baby?” with anger and disbelief in her face.

I wanted to laugh and say ‘Bella’s going to rip you limb from limb when she wakes up’ but my current state only allowed me to smile smugly.

A few minutes later
I threw myself on Jasper as he, Esme, Carlisle, and Emmett came through the door. Jasper looked at me suspiciously and said “I missed you too.”

I pointed to the river and then to my chest hoping he would understand. He didn’t “What?” He asked.

He is so cute but so slow I mentally sighed to myself. I wrapped my hands around my neck as if I was choking. “Vampires can’t choke.” He told me kissing my hair. I internally growled and yanked him upstairs.

Carlisle, Alice and Edward were all standing over Bella checking her to see if her body was accepting the venom and if she was going through the change.

They didn’t notice us come in but when Carlisle and Alice turned to leave they noticed us.

“Is everything this all right you two?” He asked. I pointed to my chest and moved around a little to see if the water would make a swishing sound in my chest. It didn’t but Carlisle turned to Edward for help

Edward tell them I inhaled water and can’t breathe or talk or do anything that involves air. I mentally told him. “She inhaled water in the river and can’t breathe you have to give her mouth to mouth.” Edward muttered not taking his eye off of his non moving wife.

Bella looked so still I would have thought she was dead, but I could hear her heart’s uneven beating trying it’s hardest to continue to beat and push the venom around in her body.

She will be fine Edward I thought as Jasper took my arm and led me to me room then to my bathroom.

“Well let’s get that water out of you.” He told me tilting my head back and pinching my nose. He pressed his lips to mine and forced air into my lungs causing my chest to puff up.

When he let go I felt the water shoot up my throat, scratching it terribly in the way up might I add, and exit through my mouth. I coughed sputtered and wheezed as the water came out but Jasper held my hair out of the way and rubbed my back.

When I was finally done he gave me a towel to wipe my mouth. I smiled weakly at him as we went to check on our family.
