“Does Matt know about you?” Melanie asked.

“I don’t know,” I said, “I think I let it slip today when I yelled at him.”

“Tonight’s going to be so awkward,” Mel said as I smiled.

“But that’s what I’m used to,” I smiled and she just shook her head.

I changed into another pair of short, a t-shirt that said I can’t stand you, and gray vans. I changed my nose stud into a blue one and I grabbed a necklace.

“Ready to go?” Mel asked.

“Yup,” I said grabbing my iPod and cell phone.

We walked out of my room to find my mom all dolled up.

“Let me guess,” I said walking to where all the girls were standing, “You got Synyster Gates to wear the fedora.”

“He thought it was really gay when I told him the first time,” my mother grinned and I rolled my eyes.

“Okay let’s go!” Leana exclaimed, “To the SUV!”

We all chuckled and we all piled into the car.

“You’re going to love the band I’m in,” Melanie said as we were driving to Leana’s and Jimmy’s house, “I’m the guitarist.”

“Oh nice,” I said.

“Yeah and then there’s Kyle and he plays the keyboard and does the synthesizing, then there’s Stella and she’s the bassist, and then we have our crazy drummer Drew.”

“Who sings?” I asked as we pulled up into their driveway.

“No one,” she said, “We’ve been looking for one for weeks and I think you should be it.”

“I don’t know,” I said.

“We have band practice right now,” she said dragging me out of the car, “Come sing a song with us.”

“Go Tegan,” my mom said, “Go have some fun.”

I rolled my eyes and almost fell when Melanie dragged me into the garage.

“Finally Mel!” a guy with dark brown hair and green eyes exclaimed as we walked into the garage, “Who’s the pretty lady?”

“Drew meet Tegan,” Mel smiled, “Tegan meet Drew.”

“Hi,” I said.

“Where’s Stella and Kyle?” Mel asked.

“Right here girlie!” Stella said.

“Stella please don’t do that you’re scaring me,” Mel grinned.

“Hi I’m Stella,” the girl said as we shook hands.

“Tegan,” I said.

“Kyle sweet thang,” he said.

“Nice to meet you,” I smiled.

“This is our new singer,” Mel grinned wrapping her arm around my shoulders.

“Can we see what you got?” Drew smiled.

“Sure,” I said, “What would you like me to sing?”

“Well even though this was on Disney Channel we’ve been working on the Lemonade Mouth songs,” Mel smiled.

They started playing and I started singing.

When we were done, I turned around and they all ran over and tackled me in a hug.

“AHHHHHHH!!!!!” I screamed hitting the ground.

“You’re hired!” Stella said.

“You all need to lay off the Twinkies,” I laughed as they un-dog piled me.

“Let’s play some more,” Mel said, “All the Lemonade Mouth songs.”

We played “Determinate”, “Here We Go”, “More Than a Band”, “Somebody”, “Breakthrough”, and while we were playing “She’s So Gone” every adult in the house came out to listen to us. I was singing and having way to much with the band.
