More Than Just Curious

Chapter Eighteen

Gerard’s P.O.V

I walked into the halls of school, feeling depressed and slightly irritated. After that talk that I had with Mikey I have been feeling better and worse at the same time. I was glad that I had gotten all of my feelings off my chest; I now had nothing to hide. But, at the same time I was still upset. I haven’t seen or heard from Frankie in almost a week and a half.

Be honest, I was extremely worried about him. I missed him, I needed to see him. I walked down into the hall where my locker was at, hoping that Frankie would be there. His locker was right next to mine. I held my breath as I turned the corner. To my immense surprise, he was standing at my locker, eyes set on the door in front of him.

His eyes were red, I could just tell from here. He looked sickly, out of place, just plain not himself. It looked as if he was possessed. It didn’t look like my Frankie. He had tight black skinny jeans on and a slim fitted V-neck. He wore a little bit of eye liner, and that same black converse that he used to wear every day. He looked good, as usual but there was something different about him, something that I just couldn’t put my finger on.

I took a breath and I slowly walked forward. I was so scared that I was just seeing things that I would just close my eyes and he would be gone again, like a dream. That he would just disappear all over again. I came up to my locker now, Frankie just inches away from me. I wanted so badly just to go up to him, and hug him. Tell him my true feelings. But I couldn’t so that, I was too scared to.

I was scared to touch him in the chance that he would leave again. I couldn’t stand to watch him leave again. That’s when he looked up at me, his eyes staring into my own. I couldn’t help but notice a small smirk that had now found its way to his mouth. He lifted up his hand slightly and waved to me, that smirk still present on his face.

I just stood there and starred at him, my eyes trailing over his body. He looked more pale and thinner now. This began to worry me even more. Was he eating properly?

“Hey Gee,” he whispered to me, eyes trailing my body hungrily. I dropped my gaze and walked to my locker, putting in the combination and opening it.

“I missed you Frankie.” I told him truthfully. I was so happy he was here right now. I just wanted to cry out of happiness. He was finally here.

I heard him sigh, so I looked up at him through my hair, my eyes searching over his for some answers. He stood there, his hands shoved in his pockets, his head down.

“I missed you too Gee, I-I just had to handle some things. Oh, and with the people coming after me and all that I was afraid to see you. You could be a target as well. “He told me. I thought that he was just kidding, it didn’t seem real.

“W-what are you talking about Frankie? Who’s coming after you?” I asked. He put a finger to his lips and made a shushing noise.

“Quieter Gee, quieter, they can hear you.” He giggled at me. I looked at him incredulously. What was he talking about?

“What are you talking about Frankie?” I asked him quietly. He nodded his head and came in closer to me, to whisper in my ear.

“My dad and his buddies, when they made me Kill Bella, they said they are coming back for me. They said so! But don’t you worry Gee, I will be ready. I’m plotting my revenge right now!” he giggled to me.

I stared at him in shock. He killed his ex-girlfriend? I thought she got into a car accident? And what was this about his dad? I stood and starred at him, wondering what I should say to him. He looked at me, eyes wide, like a deer in headlights.

“W-wait! You weren’t allowed to know that much! Erase it!” he squealed. “Zippp!” he shouted, using his hand in a waving motion above my head.

“What are you doing” I questioned him, moving away from his hands. His hands continuously moved around my head.

“I’m erasing your memory of what I just told you...” he trailed off, looking at me with a raised eyebrow. Like I was the crazy one.

“Oh, uh Frankie are you um- high?” I asked him, looking at him in the eyes. They didn’t look bloodshot or anything.

“No! No I’m not Gee I promise!” he chuckled at me. “But I do have a favor to ask you,” he told me, in all seriousness.

I shut my locker door and noticed that the halls were empty and school had already begun. I didn’t even hear the bells.

“Can I move in with you? It’s just for a little bit, but I think my mom’s with them and they don’t have any idea that I know you that I know of. So I think it would be a great idea!” he shouted at me, happily. The happiest that I have seen him in a while.

I looked at him for a moment. He was being dead serious; I could tell by the way he was looking at me. But I couldn’t help but think, what had happened to my Frankie? The innocent Frankie that I remembered. The fun one, not the delusional one that was just plain crazy. He needed help.

“Uh- my mom probably will not care; Mikey had his friend live with us for a while, so it should be okay.” I told him. “I’ll talk to her after school-“Frankie cut me off with a wave of his hand.

“Nope, now! Now!” he chanted. I looked at him strangely, yet nodded my head and took my phone out of my pocket and dialed my mom’s number. She answered on the second ring.

“Gerard honey? Is everything okay?” she asked me in a worried tone. I loved her for that. She was always so caring and wonderful.

“Yeah mom, everything is fine. But I have a quick question for you,” I began.

“Well what is it then Gerard? You know that I’m at work.” She told me in a hushed voice, obviously not allowed to be on the phone. I decided to cut right to the chase.

“Do you remember Frank mom?” I asked her.

“Yeah, the small boy right? What about him?” she asked confusion in her voice.

“Well, he’s having family problems right now, so do you think he could live with us for a little bit? Not that long, just a while till he gets better,” I asked her, tweaking the truth just a little bit.

I heard her stop on the other end of the line, and take in a deep breath.

“Yeah, I guess Gerard, I’ve always liked little Frank.” She told me, smiling into the phone. I sighed in relief. “I have to go now Gerard, bye” she told me hanging up.

I hung up the phone and turned back to Frankie and nodded my head. He smiled and threw his arms around me in a hug. I couldn’t help but smile. This had been the first hug in almost weeks. I wrapped my arms around him, holding onto him for as long as I could. I would always hold onto him.
