Smoke And Mirrors

Good Morning

Jared opens his eyes as he hears a loud thud. The first thing he sees is the sleeping figure of his brother lying next to him. He doesn't remember falling asleep. Especially not next to Shannon.

"Ouch," a voice still filled with sleep groans. Jared sits up and sees Sierra crawling up from the ground. She probably fell out of her bed. Jared chuckles softly and Sierra looks up, noticing that he's also awake.

"What were you doing on the ground," he asks as Sierra is now fully standing up and rubbing the sore spot. She looks at Billie, who is sprawled over the bed, leaving no room for Sierra.

"The bitch pushed me out," Sierra answers, looking up at Jared again. "What are you doing here? And where is the other Jared?"

"I obviously fell alseep here, but I don't remember falling asleep or how," Jared says, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes and scratching the back of his neck. It's kind of awkward not really knowing what happened.

He lifts his body off the bed, which makes Shannon roll over and grab his wrist. He probably doesn't know that it is his brother instead of some girl he slept with or something.

Jared tries to wiggle his arm out of Shannon's grasp, but even though Shannon is still sleeping, he's still stronger than Jared. "Shan, let go of me," Jared says, groaning in annoyance.

Shannon's eyes suddenly fly open and he immediatley lets go of Jared's arm, muttering some things under his breath that Jared nor Sierra understand. Sierra can't help but chuckle at the two brothers.

"What are you doing here?" Shannon asks Jared with raised eyebrows. He swings his legs out of bed to get away from his younger brother as quick as possible and gets out of the bed.

"I don't know," Jared says. "But I just was about to leave."

Garrett wakes up from the hotel room openig and closing again. He slowly opens his eyes and sees Jared Leto making his way to the bathroom. He doesn't notice that he woke Garrett and walks by without looking at anyone else in the room.

Garrett wonders where he has been all night. Blake was the only one present in the room when Garrett walked in last night. Or he simply didn't see Jared, which actually could have been possible. Garrett was still dizzy from his kiss with Sierra when he entered his hotel room.

Blake has seen the big grin on his face, he was sure but he hasn't said anything about it. He might have known something or he just didn't care or he was too sleepy to actually think about it.

Garrett sits up and rubs the sleep out of his eyes. He furrows his eyebrows when he notices that the two other beds are also occupied. If Jared wasn't here last night, then who is sleeping in his bed? Garrett is totally confused. Is he even sleeping in the right room? Could he have mistaken?

But when Garrett takes a better look he sees that it is Jared, his own band mate, who's sleepig in Jared Leto's bed. He can't see who's sleeping in the other bed, because the blanket is pulled so high that it covers their head.

"Yeah, Blake has a funny way of sleeping."

Garrett jumps at least five feet in the air at the sound of the voice. He looks in the direction where the voice came from, his eyes wide. He sees a small girl sitting in an arm chair. Her hair is obviously dyed, but the blue is starting to fade away.

She chuckles softly. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you." Her big, caramel colored eyes look into Garrett's icy blue ones. You really can't think of a bigger contrast. But both their eyes are amazingly beautiful eyes.

"Who are you?" Garrett asks. "And what are you doing here?" He has never seen the girl before which makes it kind of weird for him that she's sitting in their hotel room, talking to him like nothing's going on.

"Vail,"she says. "I slept here. I spent the night with you guys last night. I'm Blake's girlfriend." Garrett makes an O shape with his mouth. He realises that there was indeed a girl with blue hair. He never caught her name, but he already figured that she Blake's girlfriend.

There's a soft knock on the door of the room and then silence. "It's open," Vail says. The door slowly opens. Sierra appears in the door opening, already fully dressed. She wears a top with different shades of pink, a black skinny jeans and some heels. She looks so gorgeous.

She feels a little nervous the moment she notices that Garrett is awake and looking at her. She hoped he would still be asleep. She looks at Vail again. "Can I talk to you for a moment?"

Vail nods her head and gets up from the couch. "Sure," she says, walking toward Sierra. Garrett follows her with his eyes and wonders why Sierra kind of ignores him. Was it a mistake to kiss her last night? Did she not want it?

The bathroom door opens and reveales Jared as Sierra was about the turn around and follow Vail out of the room. "You look gorgeous," he says as he lays his eyes on Sierra. She smiles brightly at him.

"Bye Garrett," she says and she closes the door a moment later. Garrett stares at the door for a longer while. He is kind of glad that she said something to him, even though it was just a silly bye. She didn't completely ignore him.

"Are you blind?" Jared suddenly asks. Garrettlooks up at him, but doesn't say anything. "She's obviously completely head over heals for you and you don't even say a word to her."

"What do you mean. How is she completely head over heals for me?" Garrett asks. Why that sudden outburst from Jared? Garrett thought he liked Sierra, then why would he say something like that?

"She was nervous as fuck when she stood there," is the only reply he gets. Jared then walks past him shaking his head in disbelief and leaving the room. He sees Sierra and that other girl talking a bit further and smiles at them as notices that they're looking at him.

He doesn't understand why these two are not together yet. They kissed and they obviously like each other. The following morning they barely say anything to each other. They barely even look a each other.

He shakes his head in disbelief. Love these days.

Sierra.

I don't really feel like writing a long author's note (like I do ever) but here's a new update. I'm starting my exams tomorrow, so wish me luck. And tell me what you think about this chapter.
