Smoke And Mirrors
Cold Floors
"What the hell are you doing here?" the angry man yells at them. Sierra recognizes him slightly, but she can't quit put her finger on it. He's obviously not from the hotel, since he's not wearing a uniform.
"It's one fucking thirty in the morning and the pool is closed now. Get out, both!" Who does this man think he is. He's not her mother, he shouldn't command them like that, that's simply rude.
"Really, they should guard their pool better if they don't want anyone to swim in at night," Sierra snapped at the unknown man, feeling this is a crewman or something. She gets out of the pool after Jared who seems like a lost puppy.
The man looks at her, anger fills his eyes. But she returns his angry look and doesn't back off like he expected her to do. "I've could have expected that from you, Sierra. But Jared-" He averts his gaze from Sierra to Jared. "I thought you were a grown man."
"I am, Peter. I can decide on my own what I do and what not. You don't have to say what I'm allowed and what not. You're not my mother," Jared awnser angrily. Sierra sighs in relief. She thought for a second that Jared just would've had let the man -Peter- walk over him.
Jared grabs his shirt and shoes and heads for the exit of the pool. Sierra copies his actions, grabbing her clothes and walking toward the lobby. She doesn't care she's soaking wet and only wearing her bikini.
The lobby is more crowded than she thought it would be. She recognizes the other members of 30 Seconds To Mars and a few crewmembers where Jared walked toward. She also sees Blake and her own manager, Matt, and heads in their direction.
They don't seem angry as the other man did. In fact, they seem amused. "That wasn't quite a good idea, Sierra," Matt says, chuckling. Blake smirks as well. "Let's get out of here, the manager from 30 Seconds To Mars is about to explode."
The three start for the elevators when Sierra speaks up. "I honestly don't see his problem. We just went swimming, it's not like we did anything wrong."
Matt chuckles. "They're old, Sierra. They don't know what fun is anymore. But try to keep it quiet, the hotel isn't suppose to know. We want to be good costumers."
Sierra nods her head. They get out of the elevator and Sierra heads in the opposite direction that Blake and Matt are heading in. Her bare feet touch the cold floor. There's no soft carpet here like in the lobby. She prefers the carpet.
She opens the door to her hotel room. She doesn't share one since she's the only girl on this tour. The boys want to give her some privacy, but she doesn't mind sharing a room with a boy. She knows them all pretty well and she lives together with them on the tour bus as well.
She lays down on the queen sized bed and takes a deep breath, releasing all her anger toward the other manager. Such a douche bag. But Matt's probably right, old people don't have fun anymore.
It immediatley makes her scared to grow old. Will she be just like that? Grumpy, following a the rules and not having fun anymore? That's not what she wants. But then she thinks about Jared. He's kind if old as well and he still seems to have fun. She hopes she'll be like Jared over twenty years, instead of his manager.
She shrugs it off. She's not old yet and she can have as much fun as she pleases. No one is going to stop her know and no one is going to stop her over twenty years.
She gets up and changes into her pajamas. She doesn't bother with showering the get the chlorine out of her hair and off her skin. She'll shower tomorrow morning before they leave for the next venue. Now she just wants to crawl in the comfy looking bed. She just wishes that she doesn't have to be alone. It's scary in such a big room.

Garrett's not able to fall asleep. It's already past two in the morning, but sleep hasn't taken over yet. The snores from Pat, who's laying next to him, keeps distracting him.
He decides to get up and make a short walk. He'll be able to sleep when he returns with a clear mind. It's not that he's worrying, he's just thinking about the future. What would it bring? What would happen if The Maine suddenly splits up? What we he do then? He'll have to find another way to make money. He already thought a lot about a plan B, but hasn't quite found anything that he would like to do besides making music.
The floor is rather cold when it touches his bare feet. He doesn't like cold floors, it makes his whole body cold. Chills run down his spine and goose bumps has formed on his arms. He grabs a sweater to pull over his head and walks out of the door.
He's not even a second out of his room when he bumps into someone. She stumbles back, losing her balance and almost falling onto the ground, but Garrett is just in time to grab her arm.
"I'm sorry," she mumbles, her beautiful greenish eyes looking into Garrett's blue ones. Garrett's heart skips a beat when he sees Sierra's standing front of him, a shy smile placed around her lips.
She only wearing short pajama shorts and a tank, hugging her beautiful body tightly. Her feet are bare as well and she has also goose bumps on her arms.
"Where were you heading to?" she ask, looking at Garrett with curiosity. The boy shrugs his shoulders and says: "I don't know. I just couldn't sleep. You?"
"I was actually heading to Blake's room. I'm all alone in my room and I wanted to have some company." I want to keep you company, Garrett thinks, not saying his words out loud.
"Wanna go for a walk?" Garrett offers. "You're not alone anymore now." Sierra smiles and nods her head. Together they walk toward the elevators, both slightly nervous to be in each other’s company, but at the same time feeling good with each other.
