Never Meant to Be
Chapter Twenty-Nine
March 6th, 2011
Sunday
David’s Condo, Boston, MA
10:30 A.M.
Evangeline took a deep breath and went inside to David's condo.
"Hey what is it you wanted to talk about?" asked David as Evangeline took a seat on his couch. She looked up at him and said
"I have to leave Boston." He looked shocked and said
"Why?!" Evangeline didn't want to tell him the truth about being pregnant.
"My dad wants me to transfer to UMaine."
"Why?"
"Because he thinks I would do better there with Trenton."
"So what do you think we should do?" asked David. "I'm not good with long distance."
"Neither am I," she said biting her lower lip.
"Maybe," said David looking sad. "We should just go to being friends, we can stay in contact and whenever you're in Boston we can see each other."
"That sounds ok," said Evangeline. "I just wish I didn't have to go."
"I don't either," said David. She stood up and kissed him one last time.
"I'll call you if I ever am down in Boston," Evangeline left David's condo trying to feel no regrets. She was doing this for the better. David had surprisingly been easy to explain her leaving to. She had promised Talia she'd keep in touch. The last one was Nathan. She went home to her apartment and she called Nathan. Before he could say a word into the phone she said
"Meet me down by Pleasure Bay tomorrow at 8:00 in the morning." And then she hung up. Tomorrow morning she was leaving. She put her hand over her stomach and thought about her new baby. How was she going to raise another baby by herself?
