Just Open Your Eyes

I quietly went down the stairs, walked to the kitchen, and peaked out the door showing John and Josh in the living room playing XBOX.

That would be weird if I just go in there and say "Hi".

"Dude, I'm gonna get a drink want something?" I heard John ask Josh.

"No, I'm fine."

Oh my gosh John is coming, he will think I was stalking them or something, what do I do?I rushed over to the refrigerator and got a can of Sprite, opened it, and started drinking it.

"Oh hey Rachel didn't know you were home, what's up?" John asked me as he grabbed a can of Coke.

"You know same old, same old just drinking some Sprite"
Seriously Rachel drinking some Sprite?! Ugh.

John laughed loudly, oh how I love his laugh.
"You're funny Rach" ahhhh he called me Rach, he never called me that! "Do you wanna play XBOX with me and Josh?"

"Sure, but I'm very bad at playing those games."

"Hmmm well that's fine we can just play Rock Band then!" John grinned.

"Ok, but I call drums" I smiled.

"Cool I like vocals, let's go." John said as he led me out the door to the living room.

"Hey guys, I gotta go to Garrett's house to pick up my bag i left there yesterday." Josh said.

"Ok man, we're just gonna play Rock Band". John said

"Ok bye guys." Josh said as he left the house.

Well this got kinda awkward just me and John in my house.

The second the door closed John yelled "ARE YOU READY TO GET YOUR BUTT KICKED AT ROCK BAND!"

I giggled at his sudden outburst "No, but I know that you are".
John grinned "I like your laugh, a lot"

I blushed and mumbled "Thanks".
Wow this is probably the best day of my life.

John grabbed the microphone and I sat on the chair next to the drums.

John smirked and turned to me "Let's make this game interesting."

"What do you mean?" I asked curiously.
"If I win, hmmm you have to do whatever I say for a whole week".

I grinned "Fine, but if I win you have to buy me coffee for a whole week every morning."

He laughed "It's a bet."

When the song 'Eye of the Tiger' ended John and I looked and the TV screen closely as we waited for the results to come up.

John: 97%
Rachel: 88%

"Yes, haha I win I win!!!!!!!" John screamed happily

I sighed, damn it I really wanted my coffee.

"That is so not fair, everyone knows that singing on Rock Band is way easier than playing the drums."

"Not true, you're just jealous and anyway a bet is a bet." John smirked.

I sighed "What kind of stuff are you going to make me do John?"

"All sorts of stuff, but I know that tomorrow I want you to go in the middle of the hallway, in school, and scream 'John Ohh is the best and he is way better than me at everything'."

I laughed "Fine, but you know that I am way better than you."
He came very close to me and asked "Oh really"?

Wow our noses are almost touching.

"Y-yeah really" I stuttered.

He chuckled "Your stutter is adorable".

"Oh so does that mean you think I'm cute?" I asked

Wait a minute did I really just say that, where the heck did all of this confidence come from?!?

"Babe, you're very cute" he grinned as he came closer to my face.

Oh my goodness his lips are almost on mine. What is happening?!

"Honey I'm homeeeee" Josh yelled as the door opened.
John and I jumped away as quick as possible before Josh could see anything.

Damn you Josh.
