***Please don't steal this or the idea for it, The Summer Obsession means a lot to me, because as of lately it's the only safe method I have for coping with my sister's death. That is all. :/

It was just one word – Summer.

As words go, it was pretty typical in the way that the world defined it.

Aubrey, however, knew it to be unique in the way in which it defined the world, her entire world.

Summer symbolized so much more, summarized such incredible things, that it would always be more than a season to her.

On the contrary, it would be the figurative foundation of her youth, the ever present reminder of what it meant to be alive even at a time in which one may not even truly comprehend how to live.

It would always be the boys, the granite, and the change.
  1. Girl Unobserved.
    "My name is Aubrey, mom."
  2. It is so inappropriate, baby.
"It makes me feel like some sort of lame hooker."
  3. I'm a real big fan of yours.
“Why can’t you be like normal boys and serenade me with a boom-box outside my window instead?”
  4. I like it here beside you, dear.
