Save You From Him

I got home and closed the door quietly behind me. My mom’s okay with all my late night adventures as long as I use a condom, don’t get people pregnant, and don’t wake her up when I come home. She could be really cranky when woken up late at night.

I snuck up the stairs to my room and shut the door. I walked over and turned on the tv and sighed. I was not lucky tonight. After that guy, Terry, left I totally struck out with every boy and girl that I had hit on. That’s when it hit me. I have Terry's number! So I decided to put that number to good use.

I put his number into my phone. I remembered his words. Don’t call, only text. So I sent him a text.

Hey Terry. It’s Chase.

It took a while but pretty soon I got an answer.

Hey. What’s up?

I smiled, glad that he had answered.

Ugh nothing. U?

I sent it and sat to wait. I idly flipped through the channels on tv and ended up turning on Numb3rs. It was the only decent thing on at 2 in the morning.

I sighed. The conversation was going nowhere. I had to think of something.

So where do you go to school?

I sent the text and sat back to wait. Soon my stomach grumbled so I got up and snuck downstairs to get a glass of water.

All I had to eat and drink today was the coke and some chicken wings at the bar. I heated up some left over mac and cheese that my mom had made.

When I got back to my room with my food and water and sat down to eat. My phone vibrated somewhere in my sheets. I started scrambling around searching for it. I finally found it under a pillow.

Washington Academy. U?

Same. Hey that’s cool! I’ve never seen you around school before.

His reply was a little slower.

I mostly don’t talk to people. I just hang out with my friend Jay.

Oh well I’ll definitely look for u tomorow.

This time his reply was almost immediate.

Ok. Well I gotta go to sleep. I’ll text u tomorrow or something.

Kay night.

I finished eating and then I figured I might as well sleep too. So I pulled on my pajamas and crawled into bed. I left the tv on and just slowly drifted off to sleep. A few minutes later I was dead asleep.
