Jamie hasn’t dreamt of Jean in a long time.

He dreams of a boy who has a slight accent and wide eyes that still look nice despite his nose, and the small scars on his hands. He dreams of warm touches and kisses that cool his bones. The kind that doesn’t hurt or leave deep, dark impression on his hips. He dreams of him saying, “I love you,” and Jamie will say it back, because for this one, he means it.

That’s how they always end up as, his good dreams. Sometimes Jean will only say “I love you” and Jamie will wake up soon after, feeling like it happened when it hasn’t. Sometimes he’ll dream of other boys, who are nice and handsome and don’t care about Jamie’s looks, inside and out.

They’re one of the rare good dreams he has.
