Psyche

Girlie’s never been married. Her last serious boyfriend was when she was 28. They broke up two years later, and then Jamie came. It was only Girlie and Jamie in their little house till Zack came around when Jamie turned 13. Zack’s several years younger than Girlie, and looks even younger than his age. His hair is brown and long in the front and short in the back. His eyes are too much of a clear blue. They bother Jamie; make it feel like there are tiny spiders crawling inside his skin.

When Jamie first met him, Zack was hopeful thoughts and a red smile Jamie could never decipher.

Jamie liked him a lot then.
