The Plan

He bundled up until he couldn't feel a thing.
He walked outside into the freezing snow.
He made his way to the park, which was right across the street.
He noticed the whole city was deserted.
He realized how much he and the city had in common.
He got to the lake.
He began to take each article of clothing off one by one, until he was in his boxers.
He found a rock on the side of the lake.
He threw it at the surface.
He watched as the rock left a huge gaping hole in the ice.
He jumped in.

He did not resurface.
