"Now that we're late." Nikki sighed, staring out the window as I drove her car. Yeah, she has her own car. Her parents bought it for her, even though she doesn't have a license. It's nothing special, or brand new. But it does have air conditioning and it is an automatic.

"You can't say you didn't enjoy it." I chuckled.

"I had to change the shorts and under ware I was going to wear." She pouted.

"You can't say it wasn't worth it." I retorted in the same tone as before, which is playful.

"You're so arrogant." She giggled, and sighed as we pulled up to the place.

"Man, we haven't camped here since we were kids." I let out a deep breath as I opened the door, just so I can inhale the amazing smell of the forest.

"Wow, Luke." She rolled her eyes and smiled as everyone was setting up tents.

"Great of you guys to finally come!" Zach teased, and I grabbed our stuff, joining them.

"No problem man." I replied just as sarcastic, and nodded to everyone as my greeting.

"Hey, Nikki." Gaby smiled, and she went to her best friend.

"Maxine is here." Jacen quietly warned, peeking over his shoulder after I walked over and knelt next to him. I followed his gaze and sighed, great.

"Remember, we don't have drama." I reminded and he shrugged.

"Something tells me other wise." He cautiously whispered as Maxine approached.

"Hey you guys." She gulped, running a hand through her hair. "Would you mind helping me with mine?"

"Luke will." Jacen rudely recruited me. I slapped him behind the head, then followed her to her tent.

"So, where's Ace?" I quirked a brow.

"He felt it best not to be here." She nodded, smacking her lips together.

"You aren't going to be scared sleeping in a tent alone?" I quirked a brow.

"No. I have you next to me, along with Kaleb and his girlfriend on the other side. Then behind me is Zach and Valerie." She informed, not even addressing Nikole. "They told me since I'm alone that I'll be surrounded."

"Like a secret protection program." I chuckled, pushing away the angered thoughts of her not mentioning Nikki, and she joined the laughter.

"So protective." She giggled. We both stopped laughing and just stared at each other. "So, how's work? Heard you got promoted and hired Kaleb's girlfriend?"

"Yeah." I chuckled. "Work wasn't the same after that night."

"What night?" She quirked a brow. "Did you and Brooke?"

"No!" I laughed. "Oh yeah, you weren't there. But the boys rudely showed up at my place with their girls, and had dinner. We all got wasted about a month ago."

"Oh, that's the last time you saw them right?" She mused.

"Yeah, how'd you know?" I inquired, my eyes slightly narrowing. Did the guys gossip about me to her? Great, let's keep her in the loop of course. When she doesn't even want to talk to me anymore.

"They've mentioned it." She shrugged, putting the tent together went by a lot faster than expected.

"They gossip way too much." I shook my head and she nodded.

"Agreed. Hence why you gotta keep somethings a secret from them till the right time." She agreed.

"Exactly." I grinned, touching the box in my pocket. "Or else everyone would find out, including the person that the surprise was made for."

"Right?" She laughed. "If you had something to tell someone, when would you do it?"

"Tomorrow night." I grinned, staring up at the soon to be dark sky. "It's not suspicious, or something they'd expect. It's just perfect."

"Planning something?" She rose her brows with a smile.

"Of course not." I innocently reply, returning the smile.

"Mhmm." She teased, biting her bottom lip. It reminded me of Nikki, which made me glance over and spot her before I proceeded to talk to Maxine. "Guess Skyler is helping her with the tent."

"Looks like he's already finished with his." I shrugged and she nodded.

"It's good seeing you again, Luke. It's been what?" She looked up at the sky, her face squished up.

"A month and a half?" I finished and she nodded.

"Maybe three?" She suggested and I furrowed my brows.

"Not even." I laughed and she shrugged, walking over to Kaleb. Whom awkwardly was staring at us the whole time.
