A Life Through My Eyes
Pre-Mature
My life started early around five months early to be exact, this is the event that set my life in motion. I weighed a pound and a
half witch is pretty small. People say that this makes me "special". The truth is I am no different than anyone else on this place
we call Earth. I have Cerebral Palsy, witch is caused by lack of oxygen during or shortly after birth. The case I have is called
static CP which means it only effects one side of my body. This doesn't make me special it makes me unique along with
500,000 Americans effected by CP.
People tell me everyday that I am special and in my own right I am. I feel as if I am always being treated as a five year old or
given special treatment because of my slight disability. I have always wanted to be treated normal and left alone, but people
seem to be fascinated with people that are different.
I spent three months in the hospital in the NICU, in an incubator that kept my oxygen and temperature stable. I am a miracle
to most people but to me I am one more person God kept alive for a reason. I don't know what that reason is but I hope to
achieve it to the best of my abilities. I am lucky because there are children born less pre-mature than myself and they will
never be normal. I play sports, debate, write, study history, politics and they can do none of those things. I am proud to be
different and proud to be unique. I will never change and proud of who I am, who I have been and who I will become.
