Endless Love

- 05 -

I laid in bed that night, completely drained of energy.

It had been such a long and exhausting day.

First with moving half way across the country, then being reunited with my cousin after years.

Then I get hit with a whammy, also known as Paul.

I couldn't help but smile as I rolled slightly and came face to face with a sleeping Paul.

He looks like an absolute angel when he's asleep.

His soft snores where echoing around my room.

But surprisingly, it doesnt bother me.

His snores were actually soothing.

They made my eyes flutter closed and it made me want to sleep.

I ran my finger down Paul's cheek and I felt the subtle stubble against my fingertips.

I smiled when I heard a deep sigh rumble in Paul's chest.

"I love you." I murmured.

I heard an even deeper rumble and I couldn't help but smile.

The door to my room slammed against the wall and I practically jumped out of my bed.

A loud and menacing growl erupted out of Paul's chest and jumped out of my bed, standing in front of me.

I heard another loud growl and I jumped when Sam's figure came into view.

I sighed deeply and in relief and then I saw Emily's small figure behind him.

"Jesus Sam. What the hell are you doing?" I asked in irritation.

"What the hell are you doing here Paul?" Sam growled.

I sighed deeply.

"Sam, come back to bed honey." Emily said gently.

He started to shake and I jumped out of bed, pushing against Paul's chest.

Paul snatched me up and moved me behind his back.

"I would never hurt her!" Sam bellowed.

"Sam, I need you to calm down and breathe again, okay? Look at me." I said softly.

Sam reluctantly looked at me.

I smiled encouragingly.

"You see? I'm perfectly fine, almost asleep until you barged into my room like a maniac." I said lightly.

Sam took another deep breath and his shaking stopped.

And his eyes zeroed in on Paul again.

"What the hell are you doing here Paul?" Sam asked again.

"I was sleeping, what the hell are you doing?" Paul growled, his arm wrapping around me.

"Why are you here? You're supposed to be at your house." Sam said.

"Sam." Me and Emily said in a disapproving voice.

I wrapped my arm tight around Paul's waist, not wanting to let him go even for a second.

"Sam, come on man. She's my imprint. There's no reason to try and keep us apart." Paul said.

"This is my house. Its my decision if you get to spend the night or not, especially with my little cousin." Sam said.

I looked down, feeling bad for not asking Sam's permission like I should have.

"I'm sorry, Sam. That's my fault. I shouldn't have assumed it would be okay." I said apologetically.

Sam looked at me and his eyes softened.

"No, I'm sorry. I scared you and I didn't mean to. It just caught me by surprise when I heard a growl in the house. I didn't know Paul stayed the night." Sam said.

"Again, I'm sorry. That's my bad. I should have asked." I said.

"It's not your fault, babe. I should've asked, too." Paul murmured.

I looked up at Paul and he bent and kissed my forehead.

"If Sam wants me to go home, then I will." He said softly.

My eyes widened and I looked quickly over at Sam.

He seemed to be debating and Emily cleared her throat.

Sam turned and looked at her and her hands went to her hips.

He cleared his throat and turned to me and Paul.

"Just for tonight. I don't want you corrupting my baby cousin." Sam said.

I couldn't help but laugh.

"Oh cousin. You should probably be more worried about me corrupting him." And that got a laugh out of him.

He came forward and kissed my forehead.

"Don't make me regret my decision Eliza." He murmured.

I laughed and kissed his cheek.

"We'll be on our best behavior." I promised.

Sam smiled, gave Paul one more look and then turned, wrapping his arm around Emily and pulling her out of the room.

Emily winked at me before closing my bedroom door.

I felt Paul lay his head on my shoulder and I grinned.

I pressed my lips to his forehead.

"I'm surprised he let you stay." I said.

Paul laughed and pulled me over to my bed.

He laid me down and settled himself next to me.

His arm automatically went around my waist and I turned, burrowing my head in his chest and feeling his warmth flow through my body.

"I'm surprised too. But I'm respecting Sam's rules. No funny business." Paul said.

My lip jutted out and I laughed.

"I wasn't planning on it anyway. Werewolf hearing and all." I chuckled.

Paul laughed and pulled me closer.

"So what is this corruption you were talking about? " Paul asked me.

I looked down, not really wanting to get into this conversation yet.

"I'll tell you soon. I'm pretty sleepy." I said.

Paul looked down at my face and his eyes narrowed.

"You're lying." Paul said simply.

I blinked repeatedly.

"Please don't lie to me." Paul said quietly.

"I'm just not ready to talk about it yet. I'll tell you though. I promise." I told him, cupping his cheek.

He nodded, leaning into my touch.

He pressed his mouth against my hand and nodded.

"You know I love you, no matter what." Paul said.

I nodded and Paul held me close, his heart beat pulling me to sleep.
