Eternità

Treinta y cinco.

James had only been back home for ten minutes when there was a heavy knock at the door.

He had come home around an hour after Ryan and Brendon had turned up. He hadn't been able to find Mikey and he was now worried too.

Tristan told him what Ryan had said which also made James worry. He was worried about whether Mikey had been heading home and the same thing that happened before had happened again.

It wasn't likely that it had because William and Cassadee had done good with the draining of the excess human cells and replacement of the fertile cells. But there was still that possibility.

None of the vampires could work out why Mikey would go over to Ryan's and tell him he was sorry and lie about sneaking out when he hadn't even been home.

It sort of made Tristan worry more about Mikey. Even though it had seemed like the fertile was getting better and becoming less fragile, maybe this was some of his fragility shining through.

It was near enough the only thing that Tristan could think that could have happened. Nothing to set Mikey off had happened recently, at least none that Tristan could think about.

So when he went and answered the door, he near enough paled completely when he saw who was at the door.

It was a Head vampire.

Head vampires only ever make house calls when there's something important they have to tell a family or if something's gone wrong with something or other and they have to let a certain Dom know.

So for Tristan to answer the door to a Head vampire standing outside it, let's just say he was really worried now.

"Tristan Way?" the Head vampire asked, his face was void of emotion and like almost every Head vampire, his voice held no emotion either.

The fertile nodded timidly. "James Way, head Dom of the house, home?” Once again, Tristan nodded timidly. “May I come in?”

Tristan moved to the side so fast that the Head vampire almost let a smile flutter across his face. It was always amusing to see that fertiles were intimidated by Head vampires despite never meeting them before.

Another Dom followed the Head vampire into the house and Tristan could only watch as they disappeared into the sitting room before closing the door and slowly making his way there.

Gerard and Frank were sitting close by each other, Dusk in Frank's arms as they both stared at the Head vampire and Dom. Frank knew the Dom.

Ryan was on the sofa too with Brendan sitting to the side of him where he had been talking with James. But obviously, the talk had stopped when the Head vampire came in the room.

When Tristan finally got to the room he went straight over to James and sat down next to him, desperately not wanting to hear whatever bad news the Head vampire was going to give them.

The Head vampire stood in front of the sofa so that each vampire could see him. The Dom who came in with him was standing to the side of him but also behind him. Each vampire wondered what he was doing here but none of them asked it.

"As you should each know, within Vampire Laws the death of a vampire, be said vampire a fertile or Dom, is taken very seriously," the Head vampire started, his words almost rehearsed.

When he said the word 'death' Tristan couldn't help but grip James' hand tightly, worried about what is coming next.

"There aren't many way in which a vampire can be killed. One way that vampires may be killed is by the draining of a vast quantity of blood, done by a scum, before the vampire's body can no longer take the lack of blood in its system. This barely ever happens because often someone finds the vampire that's been drained and gives it their blood for strength before having the vampire taken to the hospital for the medicated blood bags."

Each word that the Head vampire was saying made a new strike of fear enter Tristan. Was Mikey killed? Did a human scum corner him and bleed him dry?

Each thought was worse than the one before.

"And, of course, there's another way in which a vampire can be killed. And that's by us, the Head vampires. Now this is something that rarely happens because vampires rarely do something that requires attention from us. Vampires are family bonded creatures and this limits anything bad a vampire may do to another," the Head vampire paused for a minute.

His eyes scanned over each and every vampire sat on the sofa in front of him. He knew each and everyone of them: Gerard Way, a Dom that's well known and extremely family orientated; Frank Iero, a fertile that was of top marks in high school which leads to him being a good mate; Brendon Urie, a selected Dom for the Vampire Capital City University for Doms; and finally there was Ryan.

The Head vampire didn't know much about him other than the fact that he was a victim of the scum's blood injecting circle and that there was no clan that he was linked to in their system.

Their system wasn't flawed, it was one hundred percent perfect, but this mishap made it seem flawed.

But it wasn't like it would matter because now that Ryan had his mate, his blood could now be put into the Head vampire's system under the Urie clan.

"Over the many centuries that we have lived in, we Head vampires have received five requests of which most vampire would never dare to talk about," the Head vampire said, his gaze drifting between Tristan and James, them being the parents of Mikey.

None of the vampires, asides maybe Ryan if he was thinking about it right now, could even guess what the Head vampire was on about right now.

They never knew about vampires requesting things from the Head vampires - no one did that because it wasn't like the Head vampire mingled around with the fertiles and Doms.

They were, by law and with the approval from all the fertiles and Doms, the vampires which were above everyone else. It was why no one objected to calling them 'Head' vampires or thought it was unfair about them having to see human scum sometimes where as the Head vampire would kill any human they see in their sights.

"Several days ago a fertile with the name Mikey Way contacted us Head vampires. He called to request something from us. Now this isn't something that we would grant to any vampire, a fertile especially, without reason." The Head vampire stopped for a few seconds when he saw Tristan tense up when he mentioned Mikey's name.

The Head vampire never expected himself to ever be in the position he was in right now, but it didn't faze him all too much.

"The request of which the fertile asked of was one of soul draining, maybe more known to you vampires as suicide." When the Head vampire said 'you vampires' he was meaning vampires who were around human scum. Because suicide is a word that was mostly used in their vocabulary because it wasn't known of a vampire ever committing suicide.

But like the Head vampire said, they had had five requests of such a thing throughout the centuries which means there had obviously been suicides within the vampire race which weren't known about by most people.

"Naturally, as one vampire would, the request was denied. However, it soon became clear that said fertile didn't listen to our first answer which isn't something that we take too well upon, as you must know. Normally when a vampire doesn't listen to a Head vampire's words, be it a command, answer or mere suggestion, it isn't taken too lightly."

Tristan wanted to shake his head because he could almost hear what the Head vampire was going to be saying in a minute. And he didn't want to hear it.

No fertile would ever want to hear it if they were ever in Tristan's position.

"By the ignoring of our answer, the fertile showed to us Head vampires that the request in which he asked us was serious and something that he wanted. Before any of us Head vampires could make the decision, we went into the system and told the fertile who his mate was and, because it's necessary to do so in a situation like it was, we told the fertile to spend some time with his mate and talk to him." The Head vampire paused for a minute whilst looking at the Dom behind, but to the side of him.

Frank's eyes went wide over the fact that he just realised that this was Mikey's mate.

"Despite having his mate, the fertile still wanted the request carried out. And under our vampiric laws, we had to ask permission of the mate."

A fleeting bit of hope flared in Tristan over the fact that they asked permission of the mate and he didn't think Doms would ever give permission for their fertile to be killed by soul draining by the Head vampires.

However, one look at the Dom's face made the hope die out.

"Said Dom gave the permission and at precisely three am, the fertile known as Mikey Way had his soul drained," the Head vampire finished, watching each vampire in front of him for their reactions.

Tristan broke into hysterical sobs, his fingers tugging at his hair as he rocked backwards and forwards. His baby was dead.

James was frozen in shock for a second or two before he snapped out of it and focused on letting Tristan sob to him whilst a tear or two trailed down his cheeks. His precious fertile son was dead.

Gerard's teeth were literally grinding together in anger over the news. He knew it was all the human scum's fault that this had happened. The Dom couldn't help but let his tears fall. His baby brother was dead.

Frank couldn't help the sobs that escaped from him as he buried himself into Gerard's chest, not only didn't he was Dusk to see him cry but also crying into his mate's chest made him feel better then crying into his hands did. His close friend was dead.

Ryan, being the fertile that was in the same place as Mikey, was assumed to cry along with the other feritles. However, no matter how much he felt he wanted to cry, Ryan just couldn't. He did feel upset though, like his heart was breaking over. His best friend was dead.

The Head vampire watched the fertile being unable to shed a tear over his best friend and it made the vampire frown.

But he never said anything because it wasn't anything to do with him.

It'd only be a certain amount of time until his mate will question why he's not crying because fertiles are emotional creatures when it comes to family, clans and friends so it would be normal for him to cry over the news of Mikey's death.

But then, the reason why Ryan wasn't crying was because he knew.

He knew what Mikey had been doing.

When the fertile told Tristan that Mikey had come to his and Brendon's house, he had been lying about what Mikey said.

Mikey had told him that he couldn't stay like he was, his thoughts trapping and tormenting him because even after all this time, he didn't feel right. No matter how much he convinced Tristan that he did. All he was doing then was trying to make his mum happy for once because all Mikey felt like he was doing was making his mum upset.

The fertile was told how even though he had been introduced to his mate by the Head vampires, he still didn't change his mind.

And Ryan was shocked to hear that his mate was all the way behind him with what he wanted. Because the thing with vampire soul draining is that the mate of whoever has their soul drained by want, has their soul drained as well so that they can be together in death.

So to hear that Mikey's mate was giving the permission of him to have his soul drained was surprising to the fertile because why would a Dom be so willing to give up his life, and his fertile's life, to be together in death?

The Head vampire spoke one final time. “By vampiric law, the Dom mate of the fertile who had his soul drained has to have his soul drained as well. And as by law, any Dom mate must meet the fertile's clan before they can stayed mated forever. I bring the Dom, Bob Bryar, for the introduction before his soul draining happens at three pm.”

As much as Tristan was devastated and heart broken over the fact that Mikey had committed suicide via the Head vampires, he couldn't help but be happy about the fact that he had found his mate and that they were going to be together, even though it was in death.

Because all Tristan ever really wanted for Mikey was for the fertile to be happy with his mate.

Like I said, a sad ending.
Though, one more chapter left.
