The Story of Elliot

The Feelings Start

Elliot finished the application and looked over it to find any mistakes. She didn't find any so she got up out of the chair. Since she didn't know where to put it, she looked over at Ava, who got up and took the application from her.

'Here. I'll give it to the manager when she comes in next.'

'Thank you so much.' Elliot smiled and then left into the shop.

She looked towards the front of the room to see Josh talking to one of the costumers, who looked ecstatic to see Josh. Elliot couldn't help but smile at him, he wasn't a shy person, and she liked that. He was almost willing to say anything at any time to anyone, it seemed. She couldn't help but notice how adorable he looked in the familiar gray hat he always wore, and how he looked when he smiled. It was almost as if she was developing feelings for him, especially after what Ava had told her. Silently, she shook the thought from her mind. After all, she had just gotten out of a six month relationship.

'Hold on,' Josh said to the customer, walking over to Elliot, 'Hey! You finish the application?' He said smiling.

'Yeah. I gave it to Ava, she said she'd give it to the manager the next time she's in.'

'Oh. Okay. Sounds great! I'm pretty sure you'll get the job, I can talk her into it, and Matt and Ava like you.'

'Well that's nice of you. And how can you tell?'

'Well Matt called you beautiful,' he paused and looked angry, 'and with Ava, I could just tell.' He laughed.

'Oh, hm. I see. I hope I do, I really need the money, and everyone here seems like good friends to have.' She laughed.

'Yeah. Everyone here is awesome, especially me, and if you end up working here, especially you too.' Josh smiled.

Elliot finally saw what Ava was saying. He kept flirting with her. Josh Olson liked Elliot Bassin. It was such a surprise to her, because Josh Olson was practically a celebrity in her town. She was curious to if she should flirt back, being that she had just gotten out of a 6 month relationship the week before. After some thought, she decided to. Elliot has liked Josh in the past, and he was just plainly adorable and super cute with his small lisp.

'Hahah, me, awesome?'

'Yes!' Josh said excitedly. 'I mean, I know I don't really know you that well, but from what I do know about you, you are pretty awesome.' He said, going back to normal.

'Hahah, get a little excited there didn't you?' Elliot smiled at Josh.

'Okay fine, I'll admit it. You are super duper amazingly awesome.' He said smiling widely.

'Aww thanks! You're super duper amazingly wonderfully incredibly awesome.' She giggled and smiled at the green eyed man in front of her. He smiled back at her.

'You're....... I can't beat that. I just..... can't. 'Josh frowned and sighed in defeat. All Elliot did was stuck her tongue out at him. He laughed and shook his head at her.

'You're adorable.' Josh said as his face fell blank and his eyes widened at what he just said. 'Um.. I mean.. um... Ah... I... uh...' He stuttered trying to find something to say, still having the same facial expression as before. Through his struggle all Elliot did was blush and smile.

'Thank you,' she paused, looked down, then at Josh again, 'you are too.' She smiled.

'Thanks!'

Silence approached the two as they stood awkwardly in the store. Elliot was staring at the man's chest, avoiding eye contact in a fear of growing attached to him, but she couldn't get enough of his face. She glanced up to see him looking at her, and then, fully looking up, they locked eyes. His emerald green ones trapped in a strong connection with her crystalline blue eyes, and with it, she felt a chill go through her body that she had never felt with anyone else. It left a tingling feeling in the dead center of her body. She was sure he had felt it to, because after about 20 seconds of staring into each others eyes, Josh did something unexpected.

He pulled her into an embrace. Not a hug, a warm embrace. He crossed his arms around her back, and held her tightly. Tighter then any guy or girl has held her. She wrapped her arms around his neck, holding him tightly as well, burying her head into his neck. His scent engulfed her and drove her insane.

They stayed there for what seemed like forever until he pulled away, but still had one hand on her waist, and the other he slid down to her hand. They looked each other in the eyes. He smiled, so did Elliot.

He pulled out his phone to see what time it was. 5:30.

'It's the end of my shift. Would you, or I should say, do you need a ride home?'

'Actually yeah, my ride home just ditched me.' Elliot said putting her phone back in her pocket.

'Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. Where do you live?' Josh seemed more excited about giving Elliot a ride then being sorry for her ride ditching her.

Elliot gave him the address to her house, and Josh told Ava and Matt that they were leaving. She barely heard it, but she could have sworn Matt made a joke about Josh getting some, being that they were leaving together.

'Ready to go?' Josh asked.

'Yes sir.' The two walked out of the mall, and to Josh's car soon enough.

The car ride to Elliot's house was something she'll never forget. They sang along to all of the pop artists that were on the radio, and had a blast. It wasn't long before they reached her house.

Well. I had a lot of fun today. Definitely a change from the past week.' Elliot smiled, turning to Josh.

'Really? Me too! We should hang out more often.'

'Yes, yes we should,' she paused for a second, 'give me your phone.'

'Okay.' He said, digging in his pocket and handed her his phone.

She amused to see that he had an iPhone.

'You know how to work an iPhone, right?' He asked, looking curious.

'Yep. I do indeed, my friend has an iPod touch, so I know, hahah.' She said, unlocking his phone, going to the contacts, and adding her number to it.

Josh sat in wonder as he stared at his phone, trying to find her name.

'You'll be able to find it. Trust me,' she giggled and opened the car door, 'thank you so much for the ride!' She said as she got out of the car.

'Hey now, don't think you're leaving just yet.' Josh said, unbuckling himself, getting out of the car and ran over to her.

'Am I forgetting something...?' Elliot wondered in confusion.

'Yes.' Josh said as he pulled Elliot back into that same warm embrace, and she placed her neck in the same place it was before. She felt the same feeling as before, too. The same tingling sensation in the pit of her stomach, and to be honest, she loved the feeling.

He soon pulled away and looked at her. He grabbed her hand and walked her to her front door.

'I'll see you around.' Josh smiled, still holding her hand, leaned down a little, and kissed her cheek. Elliot blushed a little, and tried so hard not to smile, but failed.

She stuttered out the word 'bye' as Josh left to his car. She watched him drive away, the smile that threatened her when he kissed her fully showing, as she turned and walked into her house.

When Josh got home, he pulled out his phone and went all the way through his contacts. He stopped when he knew he found her number. It was under as 'You're Awesome New Friend<3'. He smiled and chuckled at the name, then hit 'Call.' It rang three times until he heard that beautiful voice he loved to hear on the other line.

'Hello?' It said, sounding unsure of who it was calling them.

'Hey Elliot, it's Josh.'
