Pure-Blood? I'm B Positive

The Encounter

Nevilles P.O.V

I woke to find Araina sleeping next to me. We must have fallen asleep together after last nights emotional discussion. I shouldn't have lied to her, about my parents, but I couldn't have told her.
'My parents are insane and living at St. Mungos' It's not exactly a cheery topic. Not to mention having to explain it all, I don't want to rub salt in old wounds, I'd rather her just think i'm normal.
I looked down at the sleeping Araina, I couldn't help but admire her beauty. I know it's wrong of me, she's not even turned 17 yet. She's going to be my student! Araina stirred a little, I decided to get up off the bed and take a shower, it might make me feel better, and think clearer. The rushing water made me unable to hear a thing, and as it washed my body it seemed to clean my mind too. The thoughts I had of Araina was gone and I came to the conclusion it was fine to think of her as 'pretty' it's just a compliment right? Except that was a lie, no matter how many times I told myself this only I knew it wasn't true. I turned the shower off and grabbed a towel, I had just wrapped it around my bottom half when the bathroom door flew open. Arainas sleepy eyes opened wide at the sight of me, poor girl she was probably embarrassed.
"I-uh I'm sorry" She stuttered before shutting the door. I stood there, unable to physically move, unable to speak, I could feel myself going red. Why didn't I lock the door?

Arainas P.O.V

My heart was racing, this definitely confirmed whatever feelings I had for him. I walked over to my bed which hadn't been slept in and sat myself down. I just kept thinking how awkward it is going to be when he opens that bathroom door, and I couldn't get the image of his wet, slim yet muscular body out of my head. I heard the bathroom door click behind me and I turned slowly, to see, sadly, Neville dressed in his baggy blue jeans and cardigan covering a scarlet top. I smiled awkwardly as did he.
"Morning." I turned back around to avoid what I knew was coming.
"We're going to pretend that never happened? Okay - Fine by me." Neville rushed with his words in a gawky way a teenage boy would. I couldn't help but think of what Neville was like when he was my age...
I nodded in an equally maladroit fashion. I wasn't going to forget, I mean how could you forget?
"So.. What's the plan for today Neville?"
"Hermione isn't coming today, I'm going to be teaching you Herbology."
"Cool." I nodded as the silence began to get awkward. "I guess I'll go get ready then..."
Neville nodded silently as I grabbed some clothes from my trunk and headed to the bathroom.

Roughly thirty minutes later the bathroom door opened and I exited wearing the same things I always wear. Neville was sat on the floor holding a book, his hands sporting some sort of animal skin gloves. There were a slightly smaller pair of the same gloves on the floor beside him, I raced over, excited about what we were doing today.
"What are the gloves for?" I said as Neville handed me the pair of gloves. I felt the odd texture they had, it was definitely animal skin, it was kind of like a snakes, only way too rough and leathery. "Is that Crocodile skin?" I asked putting the gloves on.
"Good guess, but no. They're Dragon Hide." Neville passed me a book, that had to title '1000 Magical Herbs and Fungi'.
"More books, yay!" I sarcastically smiled and opened the book. "So what are we doing today?"
"Bubotuber"
"Excuse me?"
"Bubotuber" Neville got a pot that had two small small plants that resembles blackish green slugs covered in shiny bulges.
"Of course, Bubotuber, silly me."
"We're going to be extracting the pus, like popping zits." Neville squeezed one of the protrusions, a yellow liquid with the consistency of treacle and the smell of petrol oozed out.
"Nice."
"We'll also be going through it's uses and just getting you some knowledge on other plants, we don't have long till your O.W.Ls." Neville handed me a test tube and we both began extracting pus and discussing this disgusting plant.

The day slowly passed as myself and Neville discussed Snargaluff's, Madrakes and Gillyweed. With 4 test tubes filled with the pus which was to be used to cure acne, we decided to stop. I have to say, even though Neville loved this, I hated gardening. I mean, that's all herbology is, a wizard version of gardening, with a bit more exciting stuff thrown in. Of course, I would never tell Neville this! I sighed and took off my gloves.
"The same tomorrow Neville?"
"I-If you want, I mean, we don't have to, but you've been doing a lot on Charms and Defensive Spells... we've not really covered any other subjects as in-depth."
"Honestly, Neville - I don't think I have green enough fingers for this. B-but by all mean, teach me! I want to learn Neville, I really do! I, I just don't think I'm that good" A part of me felt really mean telling him this, but I couldn't lie.
"Oh... Well, I'll teach you - I've been teaching Herbology for a few years now. I don't care if you're not the best Araina. You can't be good at everything. Herbology is the only thing i'm skilled at."
"I bet that's not true." I stood up and dusted the soil from my pants before offering Neville my hand. Neville grabbed my hand and I helped him up. We both looked down to the pass of dirt and mud on the floor surrounding the large pot.
"Well, I'm not cleaning it up." I looked up at Neville sternly, who was smirking at this point.
"Because that's completely fair!" I got the wand out of my pocket in a huff.
"Scourgify." I looked at the floor clean itself and then back at Neville, who seemed quite impressed.
"Well I'm not cleaning it either." I walked out of the room and into the corridor, feeling quite powerful and important, Neville soon followed me - making me feel even more important.
"Scouring Charm, Impressive." Neville followed me down the corridor, not even questioning where we were going, which was good - because I had no idea. We walked out of the Leaky Cauldron and into Diagon Alley, which was relatively deserted considering it was late afternoon.
"Where are we going?" Neville finally questioned my bad sense of direction and obvious lack of knowledge of the place.
"Anywhere..." I turned to face Neville, who was walking behind me and as a result was walking backwards.
"Sorry!" Me, being... me, walked into somebody. As I turned to apologise, I soon realised a very attractive somebody.
"No harm done. What's your name?" He smiled at me, for a moment there I forgot Neville even was with us.
"Araina, Araina Redd- I mean Riddle. Araina Riddle. What's yours?"

A nice little short chapter to keep us all going :')
I have no idea why but it took me forever to write. ^.^
I wanted it to be on a cliff hanger which is why it's so short, hopefully I'll update again in a few days.
