Chapter Thirty-Nine
I cheered and hugged Yuki we she exited the battle room.
"Whoo! You kicked his ass!" I yelled out excitedly.
"Oh, you ow me five hundred yen, Jiro." I told him as I held out my hand.
He groaned and cursed under his breath as he dug into his pockets. I waited patiently, tapping my foot. He glared at me as he handed me the money. I smiled as I took the money and placed it in my back pocket.
"That's what you get for cheering against Yuki." I told him.
He scoffed at me and adverted his eyes the other way. I rolled my eyes and checked my watch.
"Wow, I better head home. I just moved into my new apartment on Sunshine 60. I have to organize the rooms and make up the beds. I hope you had a great birthday, Yuki! Just forget about the me and Jiro thing."
"I already did. Not something I want to remember."
"Ja ne!" I waved at her goodbye.
Jiro followed closely behind me.
