Status: Chapter 5 will be up soon :]

Long Way From Home.

I Opened The Door, And Immediately Wished I Didn't

It was a sunny evening. A very sunny evening, in fact. I smiled to myself as I acknowledged this from my window. I pulled my black hair up into a ponytail, and walked down the stairs. I could smell bacon from within the kitchen, and I knew
my mother was going over the top again this year. She cooks when she upset. See three years ago today, my brother had been killed. Tommy was shot six times in the chest, and my mother can't seem to get over it. I don't blame her. I could
never picture losing my child, but she completely overfills the kitchen with food nobody is going to eat. I miss Tommy too, but nobody misses him like my mother. They told each other everything, and they were extremely close.
I walked into the kitchen and was suprised to not see three plates on the table. She usually keeps an extra plate at the table for Tommy.
"Hey mom, how's it going?" I sighed, waiting for her to unload on me. She turned around with a giant smile on her face, which is shocking.
"Oh honey I'm doing amazing." She beamed, "I'm going to turn my life around starting today."
I smiled at her, "Does that mean you're no longer going to dwell on Tommy?"
She nodded her head, "It's hard, but I'll live through it. I can't keep myself all built up on it. That's not healthy."
I nodded my head in agreement, it isn't healthy.
We ate dinner quietly, small talk here and there. I grabbed my plate and washed it off, before telling here I was going to Luke's apartment. I grabbed my bag, and started on my journey to my boyfriend's house. Luke and I have been together for
almost a year now. I love him so much. I honstly can't picture my life without him.
I crossed the road, making sure no cars were coming. I've almost been hit at least six times on this same corner. He lives on the bad part of town. There are a lot of drug addicts, thugs, and prostitues everywhere.
Now I just need to avoide getting hit all the way to his apartment. I yawned and watched as the sun went behind the houses. It was getting close to 8 o'clock. I wanted to get there and just see him today. I maybe should have called instead
of just coming over, oh well.

I made it to Luke's house only tripping one time. New record for me. His apartment is up this dirt road, and I always end up tripping on a rock somewhere.
I also made it past a bunch of drug addicts asking for my number. It wasn't put that nicely though it was more like, 'yo baby lemme be on that.'
At least I think they were asking for my phone number. I also had a few people begging for money. I tend to feel sorry for them, but I know that they would just use that money for drugs. I don't want to give somebody something if they
are just going to abuse my kindness.
I opened the door to his apartment, and made my way to his door. He always told me I could I just walk in, so that is what I did. It was quiet, but there was a noise I heard from the bedroom. I creeped quietly to the door, and listened. I couldn't
make out what it was. I opened the door, and immediately wished I didn't.
♠ ♠ ♠
It's short I know, but it's kind of just a filler. I'm not very good with the first chapter anyway. Next chapter is when you meet Harley.
I'm going to come back and touch a couple things up soon.
