Seventy-Nine Cents

Eden was in her junior year of high school when she was murdered by a classmate in a school shooting. Those high school years leading up to her death, Eden had a strange association with Lacey: a fellow student who ended up having a major, but bizarre impact on her death. Their terrorist classmate pointed the gun at the two of them and directed Lacey to decide who was to be shot. She was left with the decision of her own life or Eden's. She chose her own, shockingly with Eden's encouragement.

Jump to a year later. Our story takes place as Lacey embarks on a strange journey of her own, as she tries to understand why Eden's death played out how it did, and overcome the event emotionally.

Written in 1st person, the perspective changes every chapter from Lacey's point of view, to Eden's, in the afterlife.

If you only enjoy stories written in chronological order, this is not the one for you, as it flips back and fourth in time quite a bit too.
