Cemetery boy

Where angels fear to tread

I take a deep breath. Nothing was making sense...Brendon’s grave had said that he had died in the year 1974, the deaths had obviously been around for one hell of a lot longer than that. And then there was what Gerard said...how did Pete know I was coming?

Just like before the grey lady appeared out of nowhere. My eyes narrowed slightly when I saw her, she hadn’t exactly been lovely to me the last time she saw me...she held out her hand as though she wanted me to grab it. Was she serious?

“Mortal I have no patience for your lack of propriety”

....I have no idea what the hell that word meant, so I thought the only safe thing to do was to hold out my hand too. Her thin fingers were bloody freezing and I tried to keep a straight face as she led me to the room where there had been a party. She opened the doors

Everything was exactly the same, except everyone was dead asleep on the floor...something was telling me that a few skeletons were going to be waking up with a killing headache (please kill me now...I’m making skeleton jokes, it really can’t get any worse than this)

“Avaritia” she said as she entered

A figure, who had about four or so people draped over their body sprung up suddenly and stretched. Pete smiled tiredly and walked towards us in an oddly cat-like manner

“Thanks for the wake-up call Grey”

The grey lady bowed before returning to her dark lair

Pete smiled and ran his hands through his messy hair, his eyeliner was smeared halfway down his face...which was a really good look

“I knew you’d come” he muttered and reached for a greenish liquid which was in a plastic cup at his feet, I couldn't help but pull a face as he downs it in one go.

“It would be polite for me to offer you one of these... but, I think we’ve already established that they don’t agree with you” he did this annoying smug smile to get the message across that he thought of himself as superior...wanker

Right now I very much could have connected my fist with his face

“I came here for answers” I said as calmly as I could

Pete smiled “ I know that...

we all have unique powers—I'm not quite sure why, but I can see into the future and your Brenny Bear has a sixth sense sort of thing...he can tell what people are doing—unless they’re in another realm which you are...so my guess is that Brendon is freaking out around about now having ni idea where you are”

I felt a twinge of guilt...maybe I shouldn’t have just left him like that. But I’ve already come this far, there’s no going back now

“How come I found Brendon’s grave?” I ask softly

Pete smiled brightly “You’ve asked the wrong question...you’re not asking what you dread to hear the most...”

I paused. Don’t know if I want to hear the answer to this...

“Why did you call Brendon a traitor?” I ask finally

“Why thank you for asking Ryan” Pete said sarcastically and took another swing at the greenish liquid

“Now I’m afraid that this might come as I bit of a shock to you—so I advise you to drink some of this” he handed me his drink

Cautiously I took the tiniest sip and just from that things started to go a little bit blurry around the edges

“I’m not going to tell you everything...because if I told you the complete truth Lux...well Brendon would probably attempt to murder me...again” he didn’t seem to be joking. I laughed anyway, this drink was effecting me weirdly

“Well, in human years it was about half a century ago, but to us it seems like yesterday...you see Brendon..."

A strange smile was playing on his face “he wanted it so much, you have no idea”

I leaned forward as his voice became more intense,

“Our kind—we’re nothing like yours, we think differently and...We have different options it’s..”

“Just fucking tell me” I muttered with little restraint

Pete sighed “Brendon made a deal with the devil”

sorry this is such a MINDFUCK but stuff’ll start making sense soon (but siriusly—sorry it made a lot more sense in my head—feel free to ask about anything)

and just so you know Avaritia (Pete) is Latin for greed, and for those who are interested Gerard is Superbia, which is Pride....sorry I think I’m playing the 7 deadly sins/vices so hard here...I regret nothing! And just so everyone’s aware I’m not a Mormon or any weird religious thing—100% atheist writing this, I’m just interested in some of the ideas and things (just thought I should mention and as always please comment! I'll be updating soon!
