No Clue Why You Left

Gerard and I were lounging around my house when the mail truck came. We whipped out heads to the other, making eye contact before full on sprinting for the mail box. Getting the mail was becoming Gerard and I's daily exercise. It was always fun seeing who got there first.

On this particular day I got there first, shoving my hand into the box and pulling it out quickly. Gerard sighed in defeat and stood over my shoulder as I sorted through the mail. One thing in particular caught my eye. It was a wedding invite.

For Trent and Addison.

As I read through it Gerard wrapped his arm around my waist. his chin poked into my shoulder as I read it out loud.

"Casual dress, for dancing..." I muttered. He nodded.

"I'm not-"

"You're going." Gerard said, taking the invite from my hands.

"But," I started.

"No buts, now come on, we have to get inside before the neighbors start throwing bottles at us."

I was neutral, not feeling a thing.
