Adelyn was a part of Damon Salvatore's history. They had meet just after Adelyn was arranged to marry Frederick. There was something about Adelyn that Damon couldn't get enough of, even under Katherine's compulsion. Adelyn and Damon's affair grew until the vampires in Mystic Falls started to be caught. Damon urges Adelyn to leave and after spending one more night with him, she leaves the following morning after one last goodbye.

Two centuries and a decade later Adelyn reappears in Mystic Falls. Damon is the first to see her and invites her back to the boarding house.
