You found me

Jacob's POV

I tossed my phone in my hands. Should I call her? Or text? I tossed it again. I exhaled sharply and text Annaliese.

What are you up to? I pressed send and waited for her reply.

I haven't slept well in the past two days because my mind only drifted to Annaliese. How her hair naturally fell flat against her tiny shoulders. How her soft pink lips tilted into that beautiful smile which sent my heart racing and me weak-kneed. My heart thudded like a broken metronome. I wanted to be with Annaliese, see her perfect face, have her in my arms. Just have her with me.

My phone beeped. A smile spread across my face as I opened the inbox. Nthin much. Last day of skool. Yay!! = D

I was confused. School finished for the summer break a week ago. Skool ended last week 4 us. :p

I sent that and she replied almost immediately. Lucky!!! Skool's stupid. Can't wait 4 it 2 b ova!!!! 1 hour.

I laughed, U could last. =D

Annaliese's response came a few minutes later, G2g. Tech's watching me. Not 2 mention Axel & Christian. Bye!!! =D XOXO

LOL. Bye!! =D I sent that sighed. I jumped out my window and went into the forest and ran to Sam's.

'Jacob!! Just in time!!' Sam shouted from the front porch.

'Hey.' I said as I sat down on the steps. The whole pack was here. 'I didn't know that you called a meeting.'

Emily smiled and handed me one of her famous blueberry muffins. 'He didn't. They just showed up.'

I rolled my eyes and bit into the little piece of bliss in my hand.

Sam chuckled, 'I was thinking we should visit the Makah Res later.'

I sat up straighter, ‘Why not now?'

The pack laughed. 'Looks like someone is missing their imprint.' Colin teased.

I looked down, 'Ya think.'

Sam shushed them. 'You have Annaliese's number. See if we can.'

'She's in school.' I replied. 'It's the last day.'

'Stalker.' Quil coughed.

I flipped him off, 'Where's Claire?'

'By her grandma's.' Quil replied instantly.

I smirked ,'I rest my case.'

'Let's go.' Sam said getting up. 'Emily wants to visit her parents anyways.'

I went back into the forest and ran back home. I jumped on my bike and the pack met up on the road up to the Makah Res. Quil, Embry, Colin and Brady were squashed into Embry's car. Seth, Leah and Paul crammed in with Sam and Emily. I smirked and shot past them and crossed the border to the Res.

I wasn't wearing a helmet so I felt the wind blow past my hair. I looked up and saw a road sigh. 3 kilometres to Makah High School. I smiled. She's almost done. I took a left turn and made my way to the school. I spotted Axel's bright red bike and Christian's blue occupying two spots next the sleek black bike. Annaliese's. I cut my engine as I parked next to Axel's bike. I ignored the stares from the boys who were outside on the steps. A few girls past by me and they started giggling. I smirked but kept my eyes out for Annaliese.

One of the guys on the steps got up and started walking in my direction. I recognised Axel.

'Hey man.' Axel said. 'What you doing here?'

'Hey.' I said. 'Sam decided to move us here for a day and Annaliese told me that today was your last day of school s-'

'So you decided to surprise her.' Axel finished and I looked down laughing. 'You imprinted on her.'

I looked up, 'Yeah.' Axel nodded thoughtfully. 'Shouldn't you be in the school?'

Axel laughed, 'I sweet talked the teach in letting me off early.'

'And Annaliese?' I asked. Axel raised an eyebrow at the enthusiasm in my voice.

'Getting her report.' Axel looked towards the school doors. 'All A's as usual.'

'Wow.' I was barely passing most of my subjects except Mechanics, PE and Woodworking. 'All A's every semester?'

'Yeah. Smart ass.' The bell rang signalling the end of school for the vacation. Teenagers spilled out the doors waving their reports in the air. Shouts of promises to call and Facebook rang in the air. '3.....2......1' Axel mumbled.

Annaliese came through the doors, or more like strutted. My breath caught in my chest as I took in her outfit. Black skinny jeans, white tight fitted vest, black sweater, dog tags (ironic) and classic black and white Converse. Her face lit up as she saw me.

'Jake!!!!' She ran up to us. I wrapped my arms around her.

'Hey Annaliese.' I said enjoying having her wrapped in my arms. It felt so right. Like if we were meant to be.

'Anna, report.' Axel ordered. Annaliese released me and fished her report out of her Jansport bag. Christian joined us quietly. Axel's eyes scanned her report. 'All A's. A+ in Maths, AP Maths, Music, Art, PE and Home Ec.'

'Nice.' I commented.

Annaliese rolled her eyes, 'No offense Jake, but why are you here?'

'Sam brought Emily up so the entire pack followed along.' Axel and Christian rolled their eyes.

'Emily? As in Emily Young?' Annaliese's dark brown eyes sparked with excitement.

'Yeah....why?' I hesitated.

'She used to babysit me.' Annaliese started jumping up and down. 'Axel!!! Please!!!! Can I see her?!?!'

Axel grabbed Annaliese's shoulders, 'Yes. Jacob can take you. Right Jacob?' He winked at me.

I chuckled, 'Of course.' I got on my bike while they did the same.

I shivered when Annaliese started her engine. She smirked and revved it. I trembled. Annaliese laughed.

'Have her home by 10!!' Axel shouted as he Christian rode off in the direction of their mansion.

'First one to the Young's buys the gas!!' Annaliese shouted.

'You're on!!' I replied. We shot off. Annaliese was in the lead because she had way more experience than me with bikes. I didn't mind losing. I listened to Annaliese's laughter and mine as I joined in. Nothing could compare to this feeling. The Young house appeared with Sam's truck and Embry's car parked up in the driveway.

'Emily!!!' Annaliese shouted.

'Annaliese? Is that you?' Emily got up in disbelief.
Annaliese wrapped Emily into a hug, 'Yup.'

Emily hugged back, 'You're so tall!! And beautiful as ever!!!'

Annaliese blushed and looked down, 'You really know how to win Sam's heart eh?'

Sam looked down, 'Yeah.'

Emily made Annaliese sit next to her,' You still friends with Adian?'

'Yeah.' Annaliese rolled her eyes. 'He still puts me in the dog house.' We laughed.

Emily frowned but when Annaliese winked at Sam, Emily understood. 'Only girl?'

'Yup.' Annaliese popped the "p". Suddenly two howls pierced the air. Annaliese groaned, 'What now?' Another howl came after but this one was filled with urgency. 'Shit!!'

Annaliese took off running full speed to the forest. I saw her phase into her wolf form. A breeze blew in our direction and my nose started to burn.

I growled, 'Leech.' I ignored Sam and took off running into the forest. I saw Annaliese and her pack trying to fight of at least 4 bloodsuckers. I howled once, sharp and commanding.

Annaliese black flipped over a leech and tackled it to the ground. I ran over and helped her rip him to shreds.

Spread out and help them!!! Sam shouted. Paul joined Annaliese and I.

Stay back! Annaliese ordered.

What? I asked. I didn't get an answer. Annaliese ran and used a tree as her platform as she tackled a bloodsucker in mid air straight into a fire. Randy and Adian gestured for us to move back. Axel and Christian were getting Embry and Leah back.

What's going on? Sam demanded. Of course, they couldn't answer him. Panic took over my body as I searched for Annaliese. I saw her in human form watching the fire where all the leeches burned. When did she take them down? Adian nudged Axel and the pack took off.

C'mon guys, I think we should go. Sam said. I felt the pain he was feeling watching Annaliese. I turned to go but I took one last look at Annaliese. She was watching the fire burn without any emotion in her eyes. I phased back and joined her.

'You okay?' I tentatively snaked my arm around her waist.

'Yeah.' Her voice was shaky. I heard the pain, sadness and fear which she tried to disguise.

'You're not.' I said. I studied the fire closely and tried to imagine the scene from her point of view. 'They're from the same coven who killed your father.'

Annaliese inhaled but coughed, 'Not from the same coven. Close enough though.'

I wrapped her into a hug,' It's okay. We'll get it right next time.'

Annaliese buried her head in my chest ,'Thanks.' We stayed like that until the fire burned out.
