An Unregretted Mistake

One and Only.

It's been almost a month since I found out. Nobody's noticed except for Courtney. It was 3am and she was still up doing some manager stuff and I had the need to puke. She ended up getting it all out of me. And I'm not just talking about my puke. Brian started insulting me more since I started craving. Courtney would also go for food runs when I got hungry. Most of the time it was tacos.

"You know, in a month or two you're going to have to stop playing," Courtney told me, the one thing I was dreading.

"Why, what's going on in a month?" Josh's voice bellowed from the doorway to the back lounge. I jumped in surprise and turned around and smiled slightly at him.

"Nothing," I lied.

Courtney elbowed me, "You have to tell them eventually!" She whispered.

"Tell us what?" Stephen asked, appearing right behind Josh. I had been avoiding him for a while. I avoided his gaze, remembering what was just over a month ago.

I downed my shot along with everybody else. John cheered happily while Josh and Brian were taking more shots. Stephen grabbed my wrist and started dancing. My vision was already blurry as I mindlessly wrapped my arms around Stephen's neck. Unfortunately we had some back footing and he fell back, me falling on top.

He looked at me for what seemed forever then slowly leaned up. I met him halfway, our lips crashing together. He broke apart, making a trail of kisses down my jaw and neck. He brought them back to mine, becoming more eager.

I tousled his hair with my fingers as he got up, wrapping my legs around his torso. He stumbled, making his way upstairs to his room.

He dropped me on his bed, his usual lopsided grin beamed down at me. I couldn't help but love his smile. I grabbed the collar of his shirt and pulled him down to me.

Of course we talked after, and he told me to forget about it. Unfortunately with the situation I was in, forgetting wasn't the easiest thing to do.

I sighed for a moment.

"Woooo! Party in the back lounge!" Brian yelled, a bottle of vodka in his hand. Josh, John and Stephen followed him as he took a seat.

Brian poured me a shot and shoved it in front of me. Since I couldn't drink alcohol the guys just thought I was being a prick. I gingerly shoved it back towards him.

"What's with you? You've been acting like my mom lately," John whined, jumping up and down in his seat.

"I think I'm gonna take a break from alcohol." I told them, standing up and walking away.

"What's been going on with you? You've been avoiding me like hell!" I heard someone yelled from behind me. I turned around the see Stephen, a pained look on his face.

"I haven't been avoiding you," I said, the sin passing my lips with a thick, caramel-like feel.

He was silent for a moment as he took a seat, patting the spot next to him. I decided to take up the offer. He moved his mouth, about to speak when the rest of the guys came strolling in.

"Hey, Courtney said you wanted to tell us something?" Brian said, taking a seat next to Stephen. "Something about why you can't play in a few months. You know, I don't know anybody who can play our songs like you! We might have to drop out of the tour, Jess!"

"That fucking Courtney," I muttered under my breath.

It's now or never, right? I sucked in a deep breath, "I'm pregnant,"

It was silent for a whole ten minutes. Josh was the first to talk, "Who's the father?"

"This guy I met about a month ago. A one night stand thing," I lied, once again.

"You don't seem like the one night kind of girl," Brian pondered.

"Does the guy know?" John asked. I kind of expected them to be like this but it's still kind of annoying.

"No. I don't have his number, don't even know his name," I told them.

8 Months Later

"Congrats! It's a boy!" The nurse cheered, handing me the delicate thing and placing it in my arms.

As he laid in my arms I couldn't help but think. Stephen didn't say a word about the father, and he became my go-to guy. When I was hungry he drove me to a restaurant, and even held my hair when I puked, but that stopped after the first few months.

Eventually I fell in love with him. I even considered telling him this child was his, but I knew it would ruin our relationship.

Together with the band and crew we decided to name him Alexander Ray. I stroked his head full of hair. I've never seen a baby with so much hair, but Stephen sure did have a lot of hair. I could already see Stephen's features on his face, but what stood out the most was that he even had the same grin. The one I fell in love with that night.

The guys all walked in, Courtney first. She jumped happily. When she found out I lied she locked me up and lectured me for three days straight. Eventually she got over it.

Once all the guys got a good look, Stephen propped himself up with his elbow, leaning down onto the bed. He smiled his lopsided grin at Alex who stared back at him.

"So this is my son," He said, cupping the baby's cheek.

"Mhm," I mumbled out. It took me a minute to realize what he said. "How'd you know?" I practically screamed.

I could hear the guys talking in the background. Surprised voices and hardcore gossiping.

"You don't think I'm that stupid?" He grinned at me, his hand moving from Alex's cheek to my now warming cheek.

He laughed lightly before kissing me softly.
