The Road to Nowhere

Rain's p.o.v

I knocked on the door of the so called 'Logan Lerman's' house. I didn't even know what shape I looked like, all I knew is that I looked horrible. I felt black mascara coat my cheeks, my hair in ablaze and out of place, but did that really matter at this moment? Then I suddenly felt embarrassed when I heard an older woman call out to Logan, it must have been his mother. I pulled out my phone and looked into my reflection, fixing my hair and wiping some parts of the dirty mascara away from my face. Then the door opened and I flinched. Logan, without his shirt on. Wow he was attractive. He had his jeans on and looked like he had just finished taken a shower because maid from inside the house took away a white towel he held. He looked at me sort of taken aback, "Rain?" He wondered. I smiled painfully, "Hi." My voice croaked. He stepped forward and touched my face, stroking my cheek near the bottom of my eye, "What did you do to yourself?" He wondered out loud. I closed my eyes as sleep was heavy on me now, "I er...I told Sky off." I gulped looking down as Logan's eyes watched my every move, "I told her I was done with her. I mean...of course she knew that I was practically head over heels for Justin...all she said was that if I was like her I'd have him already." I looked back up into his penetrating eyes.

I shook my head as my fake smile faded, "That's not fair." I said in a hushed tone. Logan sighed and looked from me to his feet before placing his eyes directly on focus on mine, "I knew Sky was gonna be like that, she does it with every guy she meets Rain...your her sister...you should've known that." I choked back a cry before raging out, "Yea well I didn't think she'd do that to me! We're sisters." I looked at him fiercely, "Sisters are supposed to guard each others backs. But her? God...I don't even know what happened." I shook my head again and sighed as I looked down rambling my story. As I said my story, Logan brushed my tangled her softly with his fingers. It actually made me blush since, no guy ever really stroked my hair, or had time to even pay attention to it so much.

I looked up at him as he smiled, "You feeling better?" I nodded silently after pouring my heart out to this guy. He took my hand in his, "Come on, mom made breakfast for everyone." My eyes grew wide for a second, "Oh no no no, I can't." I said stupidly. He laughed slightly, "What you shy?" He asked as he pin pointed exactly what I was feeling. I shook my head, "Logan I just can't come into your house. Besides." I looked around before whispering, "I look like crap." He laughed out loud, angelically as it rang in my ears, almost reminding me of how Justin's laugh sounded like, "Bullshit." He looked deeply into my eyes, "You look beautiful, alright? Besides, everyone loves your music." I blushed feeling flattered as he pulled me in, "Mom! Dad! We have a guest." He announced and I slapped a hand over my face, "Logan.." I groaned as he looked back to laugh at me.

I heard Mr. and Mrs. Lerman arguing up stairs, "Ah I don't think they heard me, why don't you stay here and I'll be back." I clenched onto his hand, "No wait, I should just go-" He cut me off, "Oh shut up already and relax, they don't bite." He kissed my hand quickly before dropping it and running up the grand stairs. I looked up after him...did he seriously just kiss my hand. I smiled to myself looking down at my fingers and rubbing them with my other hand. I looked up and around the living room, it was...beautiful actually. Beautiful mysterious paintings placed all over the walls, it would've look horrible to me, but the light blue background of the walls really put it all in tone. I looked at pictures and picture frames as little Logan and his brother and sister made me laugh at how cute they all were, "Um who are you?" I heard another tone as I turned to see a beautiful blonde girl standing there, "Oh..um hi. I'm Logan's friend Rain." I said smiling a bit. She gasped, "Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh your Rain Winters! Oh my gosh can I hug you? Wait no! I meant...can I have your autograph or-- Eek! It's Rain Winters!" She raced over and plowed straight into my gut, hugging me tightly. I looked down at her stunned, "Ha ha, yea it's me I suppose." I wrapped my arms around her in a hug when she pulled away, "Oh my gosh! Rain Winters just hugged me!" She shrieked. I nodded with a face but she really didn't care, "Oh I forgot to introduce myself!" She fixed her hair, "I'm Lindsey! Lindsey Lerman, can I ask you a question?" She asked as I shook her hand, "Sure." I wondered out loud, "Are you dating my brother?"

I stammered, "I...uh...we-" She cut me off, "Mom! Dad! Logan and Rain Winters are dating." I closed my eyes and shook my head, "Um, Lindsey-" She shrieked again, "You said my name right!" I grabbed her by the shoulders, "Easy now, take a deep breath and relax." I said softly as she nodded and did as she was told. I took my hands off her shoulder, "Oh my gosh...Rain Winters touched my shoulders." She hushed excitedly, "Me and your brother aren't dating, were just friends and I uh...needed some help so he helped me." She nodded and giggled, "Whatever you say Rain Winters. Did my brother talk to me about you? You must know how wonderful I am. I just turned 19 and-"

"Lindsey!" Logan growled from the staircase. His eyebrows furrowed and he looked so cute looking all irritated, "Stop torturing Rain. I could hear you screaming from the master bedroom." He snapped at her, "Sorry I just-"

I saw another attractive boy around Logan's age walk out, "Holy mother-- It's Rain Winters!" He chortled out laughing running over. Logan looked over at me, "So sorry you had to meet them this way, they aren't as crazy trust me." I nodded laughing, "Hi." I said putting out my hand for him to shake, but he ditched that and bear hugged me tightly, crushing my tiny frame, "Oh my gosh I'm your biggest fan! I have all your albums and a bunch of posters of you in my room!" He let go and I breathed heavily, "Gosh...your really hot." He said looking at me. Logan smacked him, "Shut up Lucas!" He growled. I laughed and put my hand on Logan's, "It's okay, don't worry about it." Lucas and Lindsey looked at my hand which was idling near Logan's, "So you are dating!" Logan closed his eyes and shook his head when I heard footsteps plow down the staircase, "What's all the ruckus! It's so early in the morning!!" Mr. Lerman said strictly, it scared me to my core of existence as I literally hid behind Logan.

Lucas and Lindsey spoke and screamed at the same time so I really couldn't understand them, "Shut up guys!" Logan snapped, before taking my hand and pulling me in front, right next to him. The parents' faces lightened up, "Mom, dad, this is my friend Rain Winters. She-" Mrs Lerman stepped forward, "Of course we know it's Rain Winters! What a pleasure to meet you darling." She said warmly as she hugged me tightly, "Oh, ha ha, thank you Mrs. Lerman." I said softly. Mr. Lerman stepped forward, "Might I say your music is phenomenal, haven't heard a voice like that in years!" I nodded and shook his hand happily, "That means a lot sir. Thank you."

"Enough chit-chat, you are staying for breakfast now aren't you Rain?" Mrs. Lerman asked, "Oh I couldn't-" Everyone whined and complained. Logan laughed, "Didn't I tell you that you had to stay?" I looked over at him as he smiled down at me.

I took a seat next to Logan and Lindsey and Lucas would not stop looking at us, "So tell us about your family Rain." Mr. Lerman wondered. I sighed before taking a bite of my french toast, "Well. My parents are divorced, um...it should be a big problem for me, but it really isn't. I mean, why stay with someone your not happy with? Mom and dad they weren't exactly ever in love. I think they just moved to fast through their relationship and everything. It kind of sucks when you think about it." I laughed hesitantly and felt all eyes on me while I ate another bite, "But I mean, it hasn't phased me. I still keep in contact with both of them, were just not close as a family." I stated, "What about Sky?" Lucas asked. I looked over at him after I felt my heart drop, "Aren't you two close? Your both in the music business."

I saw Logan tense up and glare at his brother, "Well...we were in it together, just some choices that Sky makes...they aren't really appropriate, and I've just had enough of it." He nodded, "So your ditching your sister for her inappropriate behavior? I mean, she is pretty hot so why not show off?" Lucas laughed. Mrs. Lerman scowled at him, "She is pretty, but not to me. Would you want your sister bringing home a guy every day of the week to do the nasty with him?" Lucas looked down, "Didn't know Sky did that." He said, "Well you don't know her like I do." I mumbled.

"Hm, what about your next album?" Logan asked as I looked at him, "What about it?" I smiled, "Wanna give your biggest fans a heads up one what we should look out for?" I wondered, "Hm...good question. I think this album has more meaningful music in it. It's not indicated all towards me, but it's mostly indicated to world peace, or human nature and feelings and multiple emotions." Mrs. Lerman smiled, "I love how you speak, so feminine and so deliquesce. I love it." I smiled, "I try." I said softly.

Right after breakfast was over I thought it'd be a good time to go, but Logan didn't let me, "Uh uh, your coming with me." He said taking me up to his room, "Logan-" He cut me off, "Come on, at least for 1O minutes." He burst through his door, and I thought his room would be messy but it was so pretty and clean. Organized boxes and a circular bed. Beautiful window curtains with a view, glow in the dark stars up on his high rise ceiling. Guitars and skateboards on shelves and frames, a mac desktop on his desk and a nice laptop in it's case on his bed. Fluffy black carpet and a plasma screen. He pulled out his guitar and sat down on the ground. I followed pursuit and sat across from him.

He pulled out a guitar pick, "Look this may seem a bit cheesy, but I always wanted to do a duet with you." He said. I laughed so hard that I fell over onto my back. He laughed embarrassed, "How is that cheesy? That's so sweet!" I sat back up and looked at him, "What song?" I wondered, "Broken by Seether." I nodded keeping a small smile, "I know that song." He nodded back, "I know you do." He said softly before he strummed a melody on his guitar.

He continued to strum the acoustic guitar away nodding his head at me, indicating it was my turn to sing. I looked at him and blinked a bit, I didn't know Logan could sing so so well. I cleared my throat before opening my mouth and letting my voice fall out.

Both our voices mixed in harmony and I felt a spark in our eyes when they connected.

He continued to strum the rest of the guitar solo before stopping and looking down at the carpet, "Can I tell you something?" He wondered out loud, "Anything." I stated softly. He sighed and took a deep breath, "I was in love with your sister..." I looked at him shocked but composed my face as he looked away from my eyes, "That day...at your birthday party? She told me she didn't love me back...and that hurt so so bad. I've known her for a long time but, seeing her smooch off Justin's face made me so angry I..." He trailed off, "You didn't seem angry." I said lifelessly, "That's because I'm good at showing people that it's normal and I don't care...but I do care...care more than anyone. I'm in the same boat as you Rain...I love Sky Winters...and you love Justin Bieber, but they don't love us." I felt tears fill my eyes after his last words, "They love each other."
