Awkward Silence

“Shane, we’re gonna be here a while. Why don’t you go hang out with Camille?” My dad told me as I headed for the door.

“Dad…” Camille moaned. Mr. Goode gave his daughter a look of disappointment. She, then, hung her head in agreement and walked up the stairs.

“Okay…” I replied, following the girl to the same door that she slammed my face into a good forty five minutes ago.

It was a quaint room. The window’s sill was wide enough to sit on and had a great view of the city. Boxes were strewn around the room; some empty, some untouched.
