Preface
Hidden beneath the sea, she swims gracefully and freely. Her arms are out stretched wide and a smile is plastered on her pale face. Long hair like seaweed flows behind her and a shimmering tail that looks like silk propels her forward. Ocean blue eyes are wide open to search the colorful reefs among her. A playful creature with a deadly desire, her beauty fools all who fall for her charming song.
With a powerful thrust of her tail, she plunges into the depths of the dark water as large ships sail across the sea. Bubbles surround her as she comes to a quick stop, hiding behind large rocks covered in colorful corals and weeds. Before humans feared her kind, but now they hunted them for their magic.
Mermaids could grant a human one wish. The greed of man was strong, so one by one mermaids were killed and the water was stained red. It wouldn’t be long before her kind would only be of myths and lore. Mermaids could no longer let man get away with their crimes, so they sang their songs in hopes of a better future.
