Not Meant.

Bec.

I wondered how I was so lucky to have such an amazing guy enter my life. Luke did everything he could for me, and Casey. It was time to give birth and Luke was inside the room with me, standing beside me as if he were the father. Jase would glance at us both and feel out of place.

"So, one of them is the extra person you want in here?" The doctor asked, glancing from both guys. I wondered if he thought I was a whore or something, and these two were the potential fathers.

"Yeah." I nodded, breathing heavy. My mom was here as well, standing beside me and the doctor smiled. I finally have my hospital experience, the experience that Jase took away from me.

You know that feeling of your breath being taken away, in the good sense though. That's how it felt when my eyes landed on Rodney. I couldn't help but smile the biggest smile in the world. Part of me wished that Rodney was Luke's and not Jase's. But at the same time, that was wrong.

"He is so adorable." My mom squealed, kissing my forehead. After I held him, Jase came over and smiled down at his son. He looked so happy staring down at his little boy. But I couldn't help but wonder how he felt having Luke in the room.

"Thank you." I thanked the Doctor, with a big smile on my face.

"You'll be meeting your big brother soon." Jase spoke to Rodney. "He's excited to see you, he just doesn't know it yet. You both are my pride and joys, always remember that."

"Jase, you are a good father." My mom told him, and Jase looked at her with tears in his eyes. But he just nodded.

Simply beautiful. Casey looked down at Rodney for the first time and a picture was taken, capturing such an amazing moment. Jase knelt down beside Casey and talked to him, telling him that's his baby brother. It made me see Jase in a different way.

A month has gone by. Jase respected that I didn't want Rodney out until he can develop an immune system, so instead he crashed on my couch and stayed here. The only time he left was for work, and that was rare.

"Breakfast?" I offered, glancing down at Jase as he slowly woke up.

"Sure." He weakly smiled, sitting up. "Luke still hasn't come back?"

"He's respecting our time with Rodney." I explained, walking the few feet it is to my small kitchen. "I'm surprised you're even staying here."

"Why's that?" He chuckled, glancing down at Casey whom woke up and saw his daddy on the couch when I brought him down stairs, so Casey thought it was best to go sleep beside his father.

"He loves you." I reminded, hearing Jase snort in return.

"Da!" Casey peeked an eye open then got up.

"Where's Rodney?" Jase inquired, holding Casey in his arms.

"Still sleeping." I giggled, with a yawn and walked into the kitchen.

"You ever think we could've worked things out?" He asked the question I've been dreading.

"Jase." I whispered.

"I know, Luke is the most amazing guy ever." Jase squealed with a lisp.

"No." I playfully rolled my eyes. "Well that is true, but..."

"But?" He quirked a brow.

"Right now, I need to work on me. Get my job back, support my little guys." I bit my bottom lip as I stared down at Casey.

"Bec." He laughed.

"Bec?" I repeated, furrowing my brows.
"What the hell is Bec?"

"Don't worry about it." Jase laughed, shaking his head at Casey. Bec didn't make sense, did he mean bike? Did Jase get Casey a bike that he hasn't told me about? I shook my head of thoughts and continued to make breakfast.
