Sweet Home Arizona.

Thirteen

I woke up the next morning and saw that it was basically a blizzard outside. I loved when it snowed in the city but not when I had to deal with errands, like this ridiculous wedding. I got out of bed and opened my bedroom door. I didn't see any sign of Luke and I was kind of happy about that. I walked into the kitchen and turned on the coffee pot and stuffed a couple cookies in my mouth. I was about to walk back into my room, but the doorbell rang. When I opened the door, a horrified Lydia and one of her friends were staring at me.
"Whats the matter?" It didn't exactly sound like that due to the fact that I had cookies still stuffed in my mouth. That was probably why they were looking at me like I was some freak.
"Oh honey, Lillian told us you were bad off but not this bad." I rolled my eyes and allowed them into my home. I excused myself for a second and walked into the kitchen so I could fully swallow the cookies. I walked back into the living room and saw Lydia and her guest sitting on the couch. I had no idea what they were doing here this early.
"So, is there a reason why you guys are here this early. I mean it's not like I care it's just I wasn't expecting company."
"Lillian told us to come get you so you can work out with us. She said that your wedding dress looked very tight on you and you had a little back fat hanging out." Of course Lillian was the motive behind all of this. "She wants you looking your best on your special day. Plus there are no fat people in at family and she doesn't want you to be the first to ruin that reputation." I didn't know being 142 pounds was considered being fat. I know I'm not skin and bones but she had no right to be calling me fat. Nobody should be called fat; ever!
"So let's get going. Me and Matilda are members of this exclusive gym down by the trump towers and it's like the best. They have e hottest trainers in the world." Matilda quickly nodded her head, agreeing with what lydia had just said. "So go get your workout clothes on so we can go burn some carbs. I feel like such a fatty today. I had a bagel and it feels like I had a buffet." I couldn't help but roll my eyes again. To these girls, a bagel was a full meal. Fuck, I would eat eggs, bacon, toast, sausage, and gravy for breakfast and still not be full.
I walked away from the girls and back into my room. I didn't really have any workout clothes and I knew they would have a comment about whatever I chose to wear. I looked out the window and saw that it was still snowing so shorts were out of the question. I decided on one of John's sweatshirts that I had stolen and a pair of sweat pants. I pulled my hair up into a bun and returned back to the girls.
"Is that what your going to wear?" I knew is question was coming sooner or later.
"Yep, let's go."
I lead them out of my house and onto the snowy streets on New York. I was about to start walking to were the gym supposedly was a but I noticed the other girls weren't following.
"I thought you guys were coming?"
"You thought we were going to walk? Oh goodness Macy, you are so funny. Now get in the car you silly girl."
I slowly walked back to the awaiting limo and climbed in next to Matilda.
"So why didn't we just walk to the gym? It's like 6 blocks from here." Lydia instantly started fixing her hair and make-up, which confused the he'll out of me. Lydia and Matilda looked like they were about to walk a red carpet not run a treadmill.
We had only been in the gym for 5 minutes and the worst possible thing happened. Matilda and Lydia starts joking around with the machine I was on and started turning up the speed. At first, I was okay but then it was getting a little out of hand. Long story short, I was now on my way to the emergency room. My leg was black and blue and three times it's normal size. It hurt almost like giving birth, yeah it was that bad. Another thing, Matilda and Lydia decided to stay at the gym. The limo driver had to help me into the car and I had no idea who this guy even was.
The car finally came to a stop and the driver quickly helped me out of the car and into the hospital. And just my luck, there was a four hour wait and I was going to be the last person to be seen. The poor driver felt so bad because he had to leave me and get back to his job, but I knew it wasn't his fault. I picked up my cell phone and dialed Luke's number. I knew both him and his bitch of a mother were going to be extremely upset but it wasn't my fault this happened.
"Hello?"
"Your never gonna guess where I am?" I heard him let out a sigh.
"Babe I have no time to play games." I rolled my eyes yet again for maybe the thousandth time today. "Im in the emergency room Luke. I got hurt at the gym and they think I broke my leg. I just thought you may want to know." I quickly hung up the phone and stared down at my injured leg. I couldn't believe this was happening to me right now. I was getting married in three weeks and now it looks like I may have a new accessory; a cast!

About 30 minutes later, luke and his mother showed up. I could tell Lillian was majorly pissed off but luckily Luke was very sympathetic, for once in his life.
"Oh my gosh Macy, honey are you okay?" He wrapped his arms around my neck. I looked up at Lillian and saw fire burning in her eyes.
"Yeah, it just, it just hurts. A lot." He placed a kiss on my forehead and took a seat next to me.
"How did this happen little miss accident prone?"
"Well let me just tell you, this wouldn't have happened if you didn't send Lydia and that girl to my apartment to take me to the gym." She rolled her eyes. "Im perfectly healthy and I don't need to go to the gym. This is what happens when I go to the gym." I pointed down at my leg.
"No, you are just accident prone and that's it." I was about to respond but the nurse called my name.
"Here mom, I'll take her back and you just stay here."
"Im not feeling very well so I'm just gonna go home." She kissed her son goodbye and simply left through the doors. What a bitch!

John's POV
I placed the guitar down on the couch and looked out at the sunset. I always loved writing songs at this time of day. For some odd reason, the sunset gave me inspiration.
"John O'Callaghan!" the moment was rudely interrupted when Garrett barged through the house.
"What the hell is wrong with you?" I took a sip of my drink and looked at him.
"Did not hear what happened?"
"Uh, the world's ending?" He rolled his eyes and threw a pillow at my face.
"No wiseass, Mason broke her leg."
My heart instantly started beating out of control.
"Is she okay?"
"She broke her leg dude, of course she isn't okay." I rolled my eyes and started pacing the room.
"Well how did she break it?"
"She fell off a treadmill." I looked over at Garrett wondering if he was joking. "No lie, I'm being serious."
"What the he'll was she doing on a treadmill? She is perfectly fit and healthy."
"She told me at luke's mom thinks she is fat and needs to lose weight. Supposedly there aren't any chubby people in his family and she would be the first chubby person."
How could she still be with someone like Luke. Mason is a incredibly smart girl and you would think she could see right through these people.
"They also moved the wedding up."
"What do you moved it up? It was just moved up the the day."
"Well now it's moved up to Sunday." I felt like the world had just been placed on my shoulders. She was less than 5 days away from marrying someone who would be making the rest of her life miserable. I mean we would fight all the time but I never made her feel less than she should.
"Are you going to the wedding?" Garrett nodded his head.
"All of us are going. We leave thursday night dude."
"Well I guess that's when I'm leaving too."
