The Monster in My Doorway

The Silent Game

We were playing a game at dinner, the same one we play after every fight.
It was called the silent game.
Sometimes we played this game in Mrs. Jennson’s class right after recess. But it was funner then, because if you got out, you got to go ‘round trying to get everyone else out, and the winner got a piece of candy.
The only thing we won when we played at home was the food on our plates.
Sarah lost.
