Puzzle Pieces

I’d see him walking around in the halls everyday, going the opposite direction. We’d catch each other’s eye occasionally and hold that stare for no more than a second and then keep on going. Time was slipping, I knew I wouldn’t be returning so I did something a little stupid. A little funny. A little out there. It got me a number and a new friend.
