My Tattooed Angel

Wilderness

I just did my laundry. We have a simple washing machine but no dryer, so we all have to find someplace to hang out laundry. Luckily today we're parked right next to a forest, so I just hang a string on two trees and hang my laundry. I notice Brian walking into the woods.

"Where are you going?" I ask hanging up my last shirt.

"Just going for a walk, wanna come?" Brian asks stopping and looking back.

"Sure." I say catching up to Brian.

I love it when Brian and I just go away from the world for a while. We're in nature too, so that makes it even better. The suns starting to set, we've been walking around for a couple hours. Brian stops and looks around.

"We're lost aren't we?" I ask.

"We're not lost...I just know where we are." Brian says.

"We're lost." I say.

"We're not lost." Brian says.

"Then where are we?" I ask.

"I don't know, but we're not lost." Brian says.

"Brian, we're lost." I say.

"Ok fine, we're lost." Brian says.

"What do we do. It's getting dark?" I ask.

"Guess we're staying here for the night. Come one, let's go find some shelter." Brian says.

"OK. I'll pick up some fire wood on the way." I say.

"Good idea." Brian says picking up a perfect stick for a camp fire.

Brain and I walk around, basically in a circle, until we find a clear piece of land near a log. It's almost completely dark. Brian hands me the wood he collected. Luckily I learned how to make a fire at sleep-away camp. I get a fire going to make it bigger. I can see better now. Syn's leaned up agented the log. I snuggle up next to him.

"You cold?" Brian asks.

"Yeah, you?" I ask.

"A bit...why did I get us stuck here?" Brian asks.

"It's not that bad." I say.

I spoke too soon. It soon starts to get windy and starts to rain, so much that it puts out the fire. Brian holds me closer, and I do the same. It's really cold, and the rains not helping.

"I'm sorry Katie." Brian says.

"For what?" I ask resting my head on his chest.

"For getting us lost." Brian says.

"It's OK, at least were not alone." I say nuzzling my face into his chest.

"At least." Brain says pulling me closer.

"I love you Brian." I say.

"I love you too Katie." Brain says kissing my forehead.

With those words, I fall asleep. Still with Syn in my arms and my head resting on his chest. Though out the night, I wake up, because of the wind. I soon fall asleep, being as tiered as hell.
When I wake up, I forget where I am. I remember when I see a bug crawling up Brian's leg. I fling it off, which wakes Brian up. He gives me a weird look, but then smiles holding me close.

"We made it though the night." I say.

"Yeah, that's good. Do think the others will wait for us?" Brian asks.

"Matt won't leave without me, and I won't leave without you. We're pretty much covered." I say.
"Now lets go find some food, I'm starving." I say.

"Alright." Brian says.

Brian and I split up in different directions, trying to find something editable. I think I found some wild black berries. I test one out, they're editable.

"Hey Syn, I found something." I say.

"Wow, much better then what I found." Brian says throwing a bunch of random things on the ground.

Brian and I eat our fill in black berries. Suddenly I hear something in the distance, probably just a deer.

"Katie." Matt yells.

"Katie, you out here." Matt yells again.

"Matt, we're over here." I yell.

I see a figure in a distance, I think it's Matt. He comes running over to us.

"This is where you two have been all night?" Matt asks.

"Yeah." I say.
"You know how to get out of here, right?" I ask.

"The bus is only fifty feet away." Matt says.

"Well it was sort of dark." I say.

"Wasn't anyone looking for me?" Brian asks.

"Yeah, of course we were looking for you Syn. I just knew Katie would respond fastest." Matt says.

"Can we get out of here now." Brian says.

"Yeah." Matt says.

I ironic part of this is that Brian and I have a forest in the backyard. Syn goes into there to get wood for the fire place all the time, and never gets lost. Oh well, I'm happy to sleep on a bed again instead of dirt and leaves.
